  1. I put $10 on Arizona to win the WS at the beginning of season (40-1). Probably not gonna happen, but they are 8-1 now. I've got $100 on them to win the NL at 25-1. Nice little payday if they do it.
  2. Maybe this is just my dislike for the Cards or my fear of them, But I almost hope that the Brewers take 2 out of 3. Don't. We need the Cards 2/3
  3. Just means all the Cubs betters are putting money on winning the WS rather than the pennant.

  5. Which we have a good chance of doing if Ramirez is back to form. We got Zambrano, Lilly, Marquis (groan). But for some reason we win when Marquis is on the mound... so.... I am really only worried about Harang, but like I said earlier we tend to do well against the "good pitchers". PLUS the Reds have some scrub that is 0-1 going tomorrow AND we miss Arroyo. Probably not a good thing. Especially since he's a LHP.
  6. If we can win today, consider me extremely happy.
  7. Huh? He has offered to play CF, LF, probably RF if needed. 2B when completely necessary. He doesn't care where he hits, just prefers leadoff.
  8. Is Floyd on pace to hit his AB incentive?
  9. Yeah, gotta be EPatt. I know there are a lot of fans on here, but man I wish we would have traded him at the deadline.
  10. I think it's safe to say that Hendry/Lou want veteran experience of a race down the stretch run. I wouldn't mind this move.
  11. I think that Pagan may be the one on his way out? Nobody else thinks that's the case?
  12. Callup Pie, Pigs, and Soto. Send down Cherry, Fontenot, and DFA Hill. Put Marquis in the bullpen as the long man. Let Gallagher start. He's not up, is he?
  13. Watching Eric Patterson hurts. He has the exact same mannerisms as Corey at the plate (tucks bat under shoulder and fixes batting gloves after each pitch; stares back at the pitcher in disbelief after a strikeout). I can't take it!
  14. GIS for "1870's townball team": http://www.printsoldandrare.com/colleges/283univ.jpg what a scuffling gang of raggamuffins they are! I'll bet these guys could hit leftys. I'll bet these guys could hit Woody Williams.
  15. I can't even bare to watch this crap.
  16. Thanks, I thought there may have been, I just couldn't get the thread to open.
  17. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=ap-redsox-kielty&prov=ap&type=lgns Assigned to AAA
  18. How come you didn't mention your daughter's name?
  19. Not much I could do about the accent. It's ingrained! Thanks for the votes, guys. Haha, I know. I was just kidding. That 81 year old woman will for sure steal some votes though. People love that crap.
  20. Well, Vance's write-up is certainly better than any of those other 4 contestants. That accent might hurt him with the general public though.
  21. I'm 99 percent sure he won't tonight. It sounds like (without considering days off) the lineup against right-handers will be: Theriot Patterson Lee Ramirez Floyd DeRosa Jones Kendall They are going to have the OF alignment be Patterson, Jones, Floyd against right-handers and Murton, Pagan, DeRosa against left-handers. Yup, I think you're right.
  22. Crap, he's only allowed 2 runs both times he's faced us (4/9 & 6/11) but he didn't get the win either time. Howry gave up the lead in the first game (and got the loss by giving up a 2 run homer to Everett. Definitely a game to forget) and Z won the second matchup with 8 innings of 1 run ball. He also homered to win 2-1. This guy is due to get blasted by the Cubs. We also have acquired the secret weapon against Woody Williams-Jason Kendall. He better not sit tomorrow. He is 18/35 against Williams on his career! I rarely if ever see a hitter who is over .500 against a pitcher in that many at-bats. It also would be a good day to give DeRosa off. He is 1/10 against Williams, and Fontenot is 2/3 against him. Since we already know EPatt is playing tomorrow, it looks like: EPatt Theriot Lee Ramirez Floyd Fontenot Jones Kendall Marshall Personally, I'd move Kendall up in the lineup tomorrow. He has now extended his on base streak to 10 games, and in 7 of those got on base at least twice. Combine that with his numbers against Williams, and he should really move up in the order. Lou already said last night that it will be Theriot leading off and EPatt hitting 2nd.
