  1. Hard to imagine there was actually a competition for the starting job at second base this year. Way to go Walker. Almost Lee.
  2. How many K's does Marshall have so far?
  3. yeah, this is a much easier game for him compared to his last start...first ML start against the Cards on national tv. Making your first ML start on national tv can't be easy.
  4. how much is MLB.TV and do you get every game with it? would it be slow if i have a wireless connection. http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb/subscriptions/mlbtv.jsp?partnerId=234x60_mlbtv_gen I'm not sure how it would be with wireless. I'm at school on Ethernet and it's pretty good so far. Awesome. Thanks.

  6. i like this lineup 100% more than yesterday's lineup. I like the lineup. Would have liked to see Murton in the 6-hole and Mabry in the 7. That'd be the only thing I'd change. Agreed.
  7. Even though the Pirates are 3-8 to start the season, they are one of the top 3 offense's statistically so far in the NL. The Cubs have to pitch well & they need Aram back in the line-up to have any chance to win this series. Expecting a sweep on the road, no matter who you play or what team you are is unrealistic. I didn't say a sweep. I said 2 out of 3. I apologize for the misunderstanding. Yes I agree we need atleast 2 out of 3. Anything less than that is unacceptable. The Cubs need to prove they can beat the Pirates, Brewers, and Reds in series matchups and they need to prove it NOW! They need to prove it to the fans, they need to prove it to St. Louis, and they need to prove it to themselves. . Agreed. Losing 2 out of 3 is acceptable against a good team on the road. But the Pirates are hardly that. We don't need a sweep, although it would be very nice. Our problem in past years has been our inability to beat the crummy teams in our division. I know we took 11 out of 16 from the Pirates last year and that needs to continue.
  8. The Cubs aren't necessarily known for strong finishes though.
  9. In which of course we sweep the Cards and Cub Nation gets back on the bandwagon. I would love a sweep of the Cards more than anything else. Except for Barry Bonds shredding his knee of course.
  10. I heard Jerome Williams as well for the same reason Vance stated.
  11. I love that Z is leading the league in strikeouts yet still doesn't have a win...wait, I don't love that...I want him to have three wins...but I like the strikeouts...ouch, my head hurts...aspirin anybody?
  12. I'll crack open a cold one in honor of Maddux when the game starts.
  13. "If you want me to wear 37 pieces of flair like your pretty boy Brian over there, then why don't you just make the minimum thirty-seven pieces of flair?" Awesome movie.
  14. And I can watch either. A 16-12 game is fun, a 1-0 game is exciting. Agreed. I'm a big time soccer fan (stating the obvious) so I don't mind a 1-0 game. I just care that the Cubs win.
  15. Don't you remember the meeting with Congress on St Patricks Day 2005? McGwire pleaded the fifth the whole day and got completely ripped apart in the media. And when Palmeiro tested positive the media destroyed him also. Both have basically admitted guilt. Bonds keeps steadfastly denying it. He should be out there alone because no other player has as much speculation surrounding him and still denies it.
  16. I agree. I think we need to win this series especially since it is on the road. The first game today is very important. Starting a nine game road trip. If it starts off poorly against a crummy team it could continue all the way to the STL series next weekend.
  17. Can Matt Murton take every at bat against Milton?
  18. Moreover, I think a lot of these people don't watch too many non-Cub games, and aren't fully aware of how many bad defensive catchers are out there. Or the exact opposite. They see teams with excellent defensive catchers that throw out a lot of runners but don't realize that those catchers hit almost as bad as the pitchers do.
