  1. Our home games at UC Davis are free for students. All you need is to show your registration card.
  2. Put me down for 25 per day. I'll see if I can do more. But I'll definately average at least 25 a day.
  3. Also, in 2003, Wood started 32 games, had a 3.20 ERA and a 1.19 WHIP yet he only won 14 games on a team that won their division. http://baseball-reference.com/w/woodke02.shtml I know other years he could have an excuse because the Cubs stunk, but what happened that year? He has no excuse.
  4. Its not that weak, even if he's dominant, he doesn't even give you the requisite starts to get over 15 wins. Exactly. Either he isn't good enough to win 15 games or he isn't healthy enough to win 15 games. Whichever way you go, there is a problem. And like I've always said, when you have guys that miss a lot of starts, no matter how good they are, their numbers are tainted when you average in all the bums like Rusch that take their place. Honestly, I would rather have a decent pitcher that will not miss a start than a great pitcher that is going to get injured all the time. And this is where srbin's point comes in. You have to factor in the replacement pitcher's starts into the equation. Sure Wood's ERA is great but take his ERA for 20 starts but add in 15 starts from Glendon Rusch, all of a sudden that ERA doesn't look so good anymore.

  6. I'm not going to lie. I wanted the Cubs to sign Furcal and was quite disappointed when the Dodgers outbid us at the last minute. I am pleased with Cedeno's progress and, as of now, happy that we didn't get Furcal. That being said, I think that many people would be a lot angrier about not getting Furcal if Cedeno was hitting .200 right now as opposed to .308.
  7. It lists Glendon Rusch on both ESPN.com and chicagocubs.com so I want to know if any information has come out on it yet? I suspect that it's too early but we should know something by Tuesday right? I hope Dusty and Hendry make the right move and bring up Hill. Marshall was brought up and pitched well, especially in his last start against Florida. Guzman had a respectable debut as well. Why not give Hill his shot?
  8. The Yankees getting coverage doesn't bother me that much because they are actually good. But when basketball people, whether it's on ESPN or TNT, start talking about the Knicks on every single telecast, it ticks me off. The Knicks suck. They are horrible and a complete train wreck. There is no need to talk about them all the time.
  9. That's a brilliant idea. I can just search our student directory for the name "John" and get a couple hundred email addresses.
  10. He probably just thought that since Patterson was fast, he would be a great leadoff hitter. That was a great idea.
  11. I would definately go to that game if I had the chance to. I'm feeling a 6-0 start.
  12. I agree. I can't give up on Prior yet. I've given up hope on Wood though. Seeing him leave wouldn't bother me in the least. I know he had the 20 strikeout game but he hasn't shown the ability to be healthy. Never mind the fact that he's not that great of a pitcher. He's above average but he's not that great. Come on, the guy hasn't even won 15 games in a season (14 is his career high). At least Prior had a Cy Young caliber season in 2003. Wood has had far too many things go wrong. Prior is still young. I think we should at least give him until the end of his contract. His trade value can't get much lower than it is right now.
  13. The series against Milwaukee could have been worse. The series could have gone like the Minnesota-Detroit series where Detroit outscored Minnesota 33-1 and swept the series. At least we won a game.
  14. Is that a rhetorical question? No. I would really like to know. same way you put one in your post. I tried that and it didn't work. But I want to put an image from my computer in my sig. You need to host it on a website like http://www.photobucket.com or http://www.imageshack.us Thanks TT.

  17. Does anybody know how to put a picture in your sig?
  18. Maybe he is tired of trying to settle Z down Yeah, Z needs to learn how to calm himself down much better. Larry shouldn't have to come out every single time Z gets into a jam. Sometimes is okay, but not all the time. Part of being an ace is learning how to control your emotions.
  19. Our offense is pathetic. Screw this. I'm watching basketball. GO LAKERS!!
  20. But Tyson Chandler just hurt his ankle. :( :( PS: I hate Bill Walton. I'm a Lakers fan and we are usually stuck with Walton as our announcer. I was happy when I turned the Bulls game on and saw Walton was announcing.
  21. Pretty sure a pitcher has had 5 strikeouts in 1 inning before. 4 isn't that uncommon I think the ML record is 4 in an inning. I'm not sure though. And I meant that Z is going to embarrass a guy so badly that they are going to give him 2 strikeouts for it. Not he strikes a guy out on a passed ball and said guy gets to first.
  22. It is, but he balked, you can't step more towards home than first. I know what a balk is. But I didn't look at the replays hard enough. You would think that Cedeno would be a little more careful the second time though. "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." They may have been balks, but Ronny shouldn't have been off that far.
  23. This thread is probably going to be a little slow until the Bulls lose.
  24. How do you get picked off twice? That's horrible.
