  1. Is Barrett or Blanco catching today?
  2. How has Guzman looked today so far? I just got out of class and am watching the game in a computer lab.
  3. Today's game will end up like that, but with the Cubs winning 10-0. Guzman is going to pitch well and the bats are going to do some damage and we'll come away with our second sweep of the year.
  4. You're so wrong. We're going to lose three more games. But that's it! I'm going with 4 games but thats just a minor detail.
  5. I would much rather see Marshall getting more starts in AAA and having Rusch waste away in the pen rather than having Marshall waste away in the pen. He's a starter and should be starting in either AAA or ML level.
  6. Just bringing the thread back. And padding my post total. Alright.
  7. Holy crap I'm in third!?!? Now only if Adrian Beltre would start hitting.
  8. Did they mention it during the broadcast today? I thought I heard an announcer mention it. I might be wrong though.
  9. I don't think Alex Gonzalez was brought in for his offense either. That bum.
  10. Hopefully this guy doesn't go Victor Diaz on us...well, technically he can't cause Victor Diaz isn't a pitcher...but Diaz did hurt us and was a Cubs fan and that's what I'm referring to. I hope people understand what I'm saying or trying to say.
  11. It's early in the season and averages are easily affected by one good game or one bad game. I remember a three game stretch for Derrek Lee last year against the Dodgers and Padres when he went 3-5, 5-5, and 3-3 in consecutive games and his average rose from .363 to .389. And that was at the end of May. If Pierre even has one 4-4 game right now it's going to significantly raise his average to the point that people expect it to be. But if he follows that up with an 0fer then it's going to drop his average significantly. It's April. Let Pierre get 150 AB's. Wait until the middle to end of May to criticize him. He hasn't been very good so far but saying you are getting sick of him is ridiculous. If he's still hitting this poorly at the end of May, I'll criticize him as well.
  12. As much as I wouldn't want that to happen, at some point in will and I think half of the people are going to die. I also can't wait for Pierre to have a couple good games in a row because I guarantee you I will start a "Crow Anyone?" thread.
  13. Do you honestly believe he's slower right now and that he'll be faster in June or July???? If he's so slow now, why is he 7/7 in stolen bases? According to those numbers, if anythings he's faster now than he will be later in the summer... Maybe he'll be so fast in the summer that he'll be rounding second before the catcher even has the ball. Maybe in the summer they'll give him two stolen bases for one attempt so at one point he'll be 25/23.
  14. I agree. I don't think switching around the outfield would do much.
  15. What are we when Rusch starts?
  16. But that shouldn't happen. If ARam strikes out tomorrow is he going to get booed? No because everyone gives him the benefit of the doubt that he'll turn it around. But if Jacque strikes out tomorrow will people boo him? Probably. Same goes for Neifi. People should either boo everybody or nobody. And as I said before Sosa was booed so don't give me the star player argument.
  17. Over 162 games that's an awful lot more. Cubs leadoff spot, 2005: .299 OBP Juan Pierre, 2006: .284 OBP Who all batted leadoff and for how many at bats? If you got your stats from the website, what is the link. I'm not doubting you, I'm just curious. I tried to look it up on BP but I couldn't find it. ESPN 689 ABs (Breakdown) Hairston 306 Patterson 128 Neifi 114 Lawton 75 Macias 35 Murton 10 Theriot 9 Gerut 4 Walker, Grieve 2 Burntiz, Nomar, Wilson, Dubois 1 Thank you.
  18. It's turned from a Brad Lidge thread to a White Sox and Astros game updates thread.

  20. This has been a long game and they still have 4+ innings to go before it reaches Game 4 of the NLDS last year.
  21. That's one of the funniest posts I've seen in a while.
  22. It was a bases loaded walk with Boone Logan on the mound.   Speaking of walks, Furcal gets on That's still good because it means he didn't strike out.
  23. I guess I can't quite make the connection. If you go from having no leadoff hitter one year (CPatt, Neifi, whoever else we put there) to even an average leadoff hitter (Pierre) it's going to help you a lot. All of a sudden Walker is batting with a runner on more often so DLee and Ramirez will also. It's unfortunate that Lee got hurt because I had no doubt that his RBI total would have increased by at least 10 this year even if his HR's and BA went down a bit. He would have benefitted from having Pierre leading off. Pierre's OBP is .299 right now, I don't think they're batting with runners on all that much more often than 2005. Good old Corey Patterson had a .254 OBP last year. And considering he hit 13 HR's, that means he was onbase even less for Lee and Ramirez when he hit leadoff.
  24. Not necessarily. Red Sox fans are complaining already.
  25. Stop the presses!!! Adrian Beltre got an RBI!! It's a miracle.
