  1. Barrett's being suspended isn't going to hurt the team much at all. The last time I checked, the Cubs have lost 17 out of 21 games. If you take Barrett off the team for that stretch, the most it would cost the team is 4 games, which isn't very much. I don't necessarily agree with what he did, I'm just saying that losing him isn't going to matter very much.
  2. If catchers get run over all the time, how come the highlights aren't shown on SportsCenter and Baseball Tonight? Everybody knows that SC and BT would show the big hits, but I rarely see them. So where are all of these mysterious collisions you speak of?
  3. He's not very smart because his team has been sucking, showing no life, his team is getting the crapped kicked out of them by the in city rival and he gets barrelled over and knocks the crap out of the person that barrelled him over? So Barretts a jerk, but AJ's not for slapping the plate like an idiot? I think it was great, Barretts the only one on this team that gives a crap. I've been in a few fights in my life so does that make me a jerk, Iq of about 50? What did you want him to do? If he just took it and didn't act like anything was the matter, people would be jumping on him cause he didnt' show any fire.. I don't get it.. 1. The rundown play. 2. The run-in with Oswalt. 3. The fight with AJP. 4. The incredibly dumb called pitches. 5. The impatience at the plate. 6. The quotes in the press. The guy is a dim-witted moron. So he hits 270 every year, big deal. He still sucks, and he is not a long-term solution, contract notwithstanding. Just curious. What were you saying when Barrett hit the grand slam to beat the Cardinals? Because I don't remember anyone saying anything that could be considered negative after he hit that bomb.
  4. Thank you.
  5. Do I really have to pick one?
  6. I can't see either of those pictures. I got a "Image hosted by Angelfire" and the wonderful red x.
  7. If he is interested, then if I were making decisions, I would do anything necessary to keep him around or at least not tick him off. Although with the way the Cubs are going, they'll screw this up and he'll go to some other team.
  8. Has he said anything either way on whether he has interest in becoming a pitching coach when he retires from the game?
  9. What is a Punch and Judy player? I have an idea, but I'm not completely sure.
  10. If we play .500 ball the rest of the way I'll be surprised.
  11. I had a manager like this when I was working part time in college. He posted some stupid new policy, I don't recall what it was, in the employee lounge. I took it down, corrected all of his mistakes with a red pen and gave it a grade like a teacher would with an elementary school student, and put it back up. Needless to say, I gave him an F. Someone ratted me out, I got called into my managers office and was written up. I thought real hard about pulling the red pen out again while I was getting written up, but I couldn't afford to go a week without work at the time while I looked for another job. I was the hero of the store to the other employees for the next month. The "liminade" part I corrected. I think I'm going to edit the email the next time I work. It's right by the weekly schedule so everytime I check when I work I have to see this email and it really bugs me. I work tomorrow night so I'll do it then. I'll definately take your advice on giving it a grade also. Just to give you an update, I corrected and graded the email and I gave him an F-. I did it while I was on my break and posted it back up on the board. I can't wait for the head manager to come in on Monday and read it.
  12. Anytime there is an injury to a key player, management will continue to use it as an excuse. They are completely unable to place blame on anybody. It's either injuries, or bad luck, or a good idea that wasn't executed correctly. Nobody accepts blame for this and it's infuriating. It's like they just pretend nothing bad happened and just went about their business.
  13. White Sox 0 Cubs -2 The White Sox become the first team to win a nine inning game and not score any runs. I'll let you use your imaginations on how the Cubs scored negative runs.
  14. I don't think it would matter that much. Even if we go on a winning streak while Dusty's gone, the team will just chalk it up to luck, Dusty will come back, and the team will continue to lose.
  15. And the offensive explosion is about to begin. I'm calling a double for Konerko.
  16. Glass half full. Shouldn't Ozzie be calling for a sac bunt here, you know, to maximize chances of scoring a run? Definately.
  17. Neifi, Rusch, Bynum, Womack
  18. That could be one of the quickest innings I have ever seen.
  19. What happened in that half inning? I missed it because I blinked. Can somebody give me a recap?
  20. I would definately be in support of Z batting for himself and probably Maddux as well.
  21. It's always nice to come back from class and see the Cubs winning. But it's not nice to see the Cubs give away the lead right when I get back.
  22. I can see the headlines already: "Cubs and White Sox Fans United". At least they'll agree on something - the Cubs suck.
