  1. This is absolutely pathetic. I could see management getting angry if a beat writer was criticizing the team for no apparent reason. But with the way this team is playing right now, there isn't any reason at all to compliment the organization. Going off on a beat writer for doing his job and uncalled for. I would be embarrassed if I was Andy MacPhail and Jim Hendry right now and I'm glad Sneed reported ths incident. Don't those two idiots (MacPhail and Hendry) know that if you want good press you have to do something good with the team. Right now it seems like they are trying to run the organization into the ground. I know that some of the offseason signings ticked some people off here but the problems run far deeper than that. I would be happy if that was the only problem here. But it's the whole philosophy of the organization that is the issue. It's like they don't seem to care at all. The only excuse they use is bad luck. SOMEBODY NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THIS!! Is it that hard to blame somebody? You don't have to do it through the media, do it on the field. I think people will get the point if they see Neifi not playing at all - this includes pinch hitting - for a couple days. Don't start Jacque Jones for a couple days after he makes a baserunning error. If people don't seem like they are trying SIT THEM ON THE BENCH. It's not hard to do. At this point, I don't care if it costs the team a game or two or the whole season, but a point needs to be made. Sometimes you need to sacrifice something to achieve a greater goal. I'm not going to quit on the Cubs because they're my team, although I can easily see how some people might. We can only hope that something changes and changes quick. Although I get the feeling that's not going to happen.
  2. That's the best news I've heard all day. I can only hope that when I tune in to MLB.TV on Sunday that they give me the CSN feed so I get Len and Bob. For those who have MLB.TV, is there any way to choose which feed you get?
  3. Anybody know who is tenetively scheduled to pitch for the Iowa Cubs next Thursday May 25 against the Sacramento RiverCats? I'm going to the game and wondering who I might have the privaledge of seeing.
  4. And that's why I don't think I'm even going to watch this game. Its soft tossing mediocre lefties that we can't hit. The good lefties we dont have as many problems with.... I hope you're right. I would like nothing more than to see the Cubs rough up Who Is Mark Buehrle tomorrow. Especially with Dumb and Dumber announcing.
  5. We're dead last in BA, OBP, SLG, OPS in all of MLB against lefties. Good lefty or bad, soft tosser or hard thrower, we just can't hit them at all.
  6. And that's why I don't think I'm even going to watch this game.
  7. from Cubs.com I'm still not sure if Dusty made the decision or if Neifi did.
  8. I think you have missed the past 12 bunt attempts....... I think 5 of our first nine hitters bunted to start todays game.
  9. You know the worst part? If ARam can't start tomorrow, Neifi probably will again.
  10. That's what I was thinking. I know Baker isn't the smartest guy, but I don't think even he would call for a bunt with 2 outs.
  11. Why do you bunt there? Any bloop hit gets a run home and keeps the inning going.
  12. This just in. The Cubs are forever stuck in... the Twilight Zone - the place where common sense and good judgement isn't allowed.
  13. Are you kidding me? A bunt with 2 outs? What was that? Not a bad play Bob, are you [expletive]? I really don't know why they did that.
  14. Neifi walk off HR. I'm calling it. EDIT: The blind squirrel is going to find the nut of all nuts today.
  15. Ball 3 to Jacque was the EXACT same pitch Murton was called out on.
  16. Come on Barrett. Pretend Izzy is on the mound.
  17. No complaining by Fick today? That's disappointing.
  18. So instead of weak groundouts to second he would have hard groundouts to second.
  19. Steak and a bratwuerst before night games for Marshall. That's tasty but it would absolutely destroy my stomach.
  20. Bold prediction: Pierre goes to the Cards next year and does exactly what you said - hits .300.
  21. I had a manager like this when I was working part time in college. He posted some stupid new policy, I don't recall what it was, in the employee lounge. I took it down, corrected all of his mistakes with a red pen and gave it a grade like a teacher would with an elementary school student, and put it back up. Needless to say, I gave him an F. Someone ratted me out, I got called into my managers office and was written up. I thought real hard about pulling the red pen out again while I was getting written up, but I couldn't afford to go a week without work at the time while I looked for another job. I was the hero of the store to the other employees for the next month. The "liminade" part I corrected. I think I'm going to edit the email the next time I work. It's right by the weekly schedule so everytime I check when I work I have to see this email and it really bugs me. I work tomorrow night so I'll do it then. I'll definately take your advice on giving it a grade also.
  22. I'm sick of the Jimmy Fallon Pepsi commercial. Although I didn't like that commercial the first time I saw it so I might be a bit biased.
