  1. Oh man was that a super dumb penalty.
  2. I assume we're talking about Ovechkin here? Oops. Yeah. I had an opening sentence and then deleted it.
  3. Ovechkin… In 2018-19, he became only the 4th player aged 33 or older to score 50 goals in a season. In 2019-20, he would have become only the 2nd player aged 34 or older to score 50 goals in a season if not for the pandemic (48 goals in 69 team games) In 2021-22, he became the oldest player at 36 to score 50 goals in a season. In 2022-23, he's on pace for 50 goals again. If he gets 50 this year he'll be the only player with 10 seasons of 50+ goals. A few years ago my dad and I were talking about his chances of catching Gretzky for most goals in a career and while it seemed like he had a shot at it, it didn't necessarily seem likely. Now it seems like a matter of when not if. Gretzky at 37 scored 23 goals in 82 games, at 38 he scored 9 in 70 games and then he retired. If it wasn't for the lockout in 04-05 which lost the whole season, the lockout in 12-13 and then Covid shortened years in 19-20 and 20-21, he could have the record already.
  4. The AFC seems like it's set up for another run similar to 2003-2018 where Brady, Manning or Roethlisberger won the conference every year except for the year when Joe Flacco played like a HOFer for 4 games. Those three had 22 of the 32 AFC title game appearances too. Things can obviously change but Mahomes, Burrow and Allen aren't going anywhere anytime soon. Those three have combined for all 6 AFC Champ apps the last three years, 7 in 4 years and 8 in 5 (Tannehill in 19 and Brady in 18).
  5. Love the garbage time FG.
  6. What I need is a manager who is willing to set his team out to attack from the start of the game rather than waiting for the second half. 39 goals scored in the league this year. Only 12 of those in the first half, 6 at home and 6 on the road. 15 goals in the second half at home, 12 goals on the second half on the road. Game after game they do nothing in the first half. He sets them up like they're a bottom 5 squad playing on the road against a top-6 team. Prior to today they'd scored 1 1st half goal in their last 10 games. Could have had ten Hag before the 2021 season. Instead they stupidly went with their 12th choice then fired him after 17 games. Outside of a good 10 game stretch to end last year it's been a disaster since they fired Poch.
  7. I think they give him one kick. Shank it and he’s done. So then you don’t have a kicker the rest of the game? They’re fools if they don’t sign a new kicker before Sunday. True. I guess it would depend on if they think their punter can make kicks.
  8. I think they give him one kick. Shank it and he’s done.
  9. I want Dallas to win by 30. Then they can lose next week.
  10. Yeah, them huddling with 40ish seconds left and not just calling a TO was weird. They had two left.
  11. Reminds me of the Mich-TCU game.
  12. Buffalo shooting themselves in the foot. Two picks and a long punt return.
  13. 1st half Spurs have 4 shots, 2 on target. 2nd half in the first 10 minutes they have 4 shots, 3 on target. It doesn’t make sense why they can’t play like that right from the start and the only thing I can think of is that’s how Conte wants them to play. They do it at home and on the road, against good teams and bad, in the league and the UCL. Also, LOL Lloris. [tweet] [/tweet]
  14. Al must have bet on the Chargers to win.
  15. This would be such a Chargers loss to be +4 in turnovers and still lose.
  16. This game is a microcosm of the Jags season. Super slow start and then pick it up in the second half.
  17. 4-16 for 30 yards and 4 picks. Oof. Record in a playoff game is 6 but I would hope they’d take him out if he even gets 5.
  18. Niners for some reason squib kick before the half rather than just kick it out of the end zone. Then on a Smith scramble an idiot defender hits him late gifting Seattle an extra 15 yards so they can kick a FG. If they just kick it out of the end zone Seattle probably kneels to end the half.
  19. I'm going to need an explanation as for why this isn't offside on Rashford. I get that he didn't touch the ball but why does that matter? He's clearly involved in the play, the pass was to him and him alone, and he runs alongside the ball for 15 yards. In the instances where an attacker is in an offside position standing between the goalie and the guy taking the shot, they still call that offside if the offside guy is obstructing the view of the goalie even if he never touches the ball.
  20. You can take the man away from Diego Simeone but you can’t take the Diego Simeone influence out of the man.
  21. Georgia still had to win the games and I get that injuries happen so I’m not trying to take away from what they’ve done, but Georgia is 2 (maybe 3) WR injuries away from potentially having no championships. Metchie and Williams last year and Harrison Jr this year.
  22. I think they should have just let the standings be what they are and not worry about any coin flips or neutral site games. Sorry to Buffalo that you don’t get the 1. You also don’t drop to 3. Sorry to Cincy you don’t get the 2. You also don’t get the 5 either. I also thought Cincy being outraged over the coin toss thing was incredibly stupid. Going by betting odds there was a 3% chance of them playing in Baltimore in the first round. You know what actually sucks? Almost dying on a football field. So you lose a chance to move up a spot. Oh well. Deal with it.
  23. How come a potential Bengals-Bills matchup isn’t being treated in the same way as a potential Bills-Chiefs matchup in terms of being played at a neutral site? The Bengals lose out on a chance to host a playoff game just like the Bills did.
  24. Bears get the #1 pick on the same day as the Packers get eliminated from playoff contention at home by the Lions? This is probably a top-5 Bears moment since Super Bowl XX.
  25. The Houston Texans is the worst organization in the NFL, by far. And, quite possibly, the worst organization in professional sports. The Washington Commanders might rival their awfulness Exactly what I was going to respond with. At the very least the Texans aren’t by far the worst.
