  1. Totti in for Del Piero.
  2. And the red card comes again. Not sure about that one though. It was late but it wasn't horrible. Yellow card worthy. BTW, as I type this Marcelo Balboa confirms it so I must be right. Italy now down to 10 men.
  3. Can we find out what Koby Clemens was thinking when the manager went over and took second base?
  4. I don't think Guillen would be pronouncing "Cardinals" correctly. He'd prolly be calling them, what he call Jay Mariotti. That's what a couple of the "(bleeps)" were for. Also, the statement has been translated into English from Ozzie-speak.
  5. <-- leaves to find the nearest cliff.
  6. Take me out to the baaall game. Take me out with the crooowd. Dusty I have someTHING to tell you. I don't care if you E-ver come back Cause you're FIRED, FIRED FIRED FIRE Fiiiii-ered. If you don't leave now it's a shAAAAme. Cause it's ONE, TWO, THREE strikes your OUT At the oooooll, baaaaaall, gaaaaaaAAAAAAAAA-a-a-a-ME!!!! Awesome.
  7. The Aussies are playing fairly well today. I would love nothing more than to see them upset Italy. AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE!! OY OY OY!!
  8. Jim Duquette made the deal. He's now with Baltimore. Well does Baltimore have any good prospects we could trade for?
  9. http://news.bbc.co.uk/media/images/38053000/jpg/_38053615_riv300.jpg Is that a picture of Rivaldo when he took the dive in 2002? IIRC he got hit in the leg/thigh with the ball and fell down in a heap and grabbed his face.
  10. They'll do it during the seventh inning stretch. Hendry will announce that he will be the guest singer of "Take Me Out To The Ball Game" and at the end of the song instead of saying 'Let's get some runs!!', Hendry will say 'Dusty, YOU'RE FIRED!!' and Wrigley will erupt.
  11. This just in, as a response to the accusations of cheating by the Cardinals, the White Sox have just accused the Cardinals of sucking. When reached for comment, Ozzie Guillen could only respond with "(bleep) (bleep) Cardinals (bleep) (bleep) (bleep) Tony LaRussa. (Bleep) (bleep) cheating (bleep) (bleep) Cardinals (bleep) (bleep) (bleep) (bleep) suck (bleep). (Bleep) (bleep)."
  12. The Cubs are good at sucking and losing.
  13. Chip and Stone were great but I don't mind Len and Bob at all. As for Bob being manager of this team, I would be surprised if he wanted the job. I sure wouldn't.
  14. Not only did he get a hit, but he got an RBI on the play as well.
  15. I would believe Nolan Ryan hitting 103. The others, I'm not so sure about. Why? Cause he doesn't play right now? Because Nolan Ryan was a notorious hard thrower. I didn't say the others can't do it or didn't do it. I just said I put more faith in Ryan than the others.
  16. It looks like FIFA is actually blaming the referee's for the match. I'm going to have to watch a replay of this game sometime. My dad has it on TIVO so when I go home next weekend I'll have to watch it because I know World Cup Live won't do it justice. It sounds like the referee absolutely butchered this match. I hope this makes FIFA wake up to what's been going on but they'll probably just consider this game as an anomaly and won't do much of anything.
  17. I agree with him in that regard. I think the referees have, for the most part, been way too quick to hand out yellow cards. Some cards are warranted and necessary but the referee must look at the context of the game before handing out a yellow card. For anybody that watched, the referee for the Brazil-Japan match was excellent. Also, even though he handed out 6 yellow cards, the ref for the Argentina-Mexico match was excellent as well. The referees aren't supposed to be noticed on the field but they have become the story of the World Cup. I don't necessarily think that the referee needs to talk to every player but they don't need to hand out yellow cards like they are going out of style. I agree with he was saying but he makes the point of saying it in numerous times in every single broadcast. Its a valid point but he's beating a dead horse. True. It makes me want to say 'Hey, Marcelo. We get it already. We understood the first 10 times you said it during this broadcast."
  18. Here is the full article.
  19. Most everybody would agree with you that it's not a good lineup but the word in bold is the key. It's a probable lineup and it's more than probable that Dusty is going to put Pierre in the leadoff spot. I don't think he's trying to say that these lineups are improbable or that there isn't sound reasoning behind placing Pierre in the leadoff spot of these likely lineups. He's just saying that Pierre sucks. I second this. I agree with the fact that Pierre sucks. But again, it's a probable lineup, i.e. something likely to happen, not a 'what I would do if I was the manager' lineup. We all know that Dusty is going to put Pierre as the leadoff hitter so making a probable lineup without Pierre leading off isn't probable.
  20. Hey Marcelo. I bet England is happy to have Beckham on the field, eh? Still think he shouldn't be playing? Idiot.

  23. A school chum of mine and I treated our fathers to a Fathers' Day doubleheader in 1966 against the Houston Astros. The CUBS, of course, responded by losing both games. Ah.... the memories !! You're really showing your age now Fred.
