When you're 5-8, there's no such thing as a freebie. True I guess, but I've seen Detroit in 3 games this year. They are the worst team in the NFL, period. I've seen Oakland in 3 games too and at least they have a defense. The Lions don't have a D and Kitna is almost as bad as Brooks. The Raiders will at least win one more game this year. The Lions probably won't. No offense to the Lions, but the Raiders offense could be one of the worst of all time. The complete and total incompetence of the Raider offense is, at this point in the season, downright hilarious. Nothing about this team surprises me anymore. If the Raiders do manage to win a game, it will be because of the defense. The Lions offense took another hit today as Kevin Jones is likely to miss the rest of the season. The Raiders offense is horrible. No QB, a broken down RB, a real sub-par O-line. But I think the defense can win you guys a game against the Rams. I know that's not what you want to hear, but the Rams have been playing about as bad as anyone the last month or so. Oh it's not what I want to hear but, like I said, nothing suprises me anymore. This state of mind came after the game against Pittsburgh when the Raiders managed 98 yards of offense but still won the game. I don't want them to win any more games but I wouldn't be surprised if they did.

I think it was safe to say the Chargers were the best team in the AFC before the Colts embarassing performance today. Bleh, whatever. I still hate them, because they've always played one-dimensional football and people have been praising them for years for doing it. The NFL has taken severe measures to get Peyton Manning a Super Bowl ring, and now that window of opportunity is closed. (I'm still suspicious of that call in the playoffs against the Steelers. ) Enough of that noise. The Colts are done, and the world is right again. You have to be able to run the ball and stop the run to be competitive in football. No more 49 touchdown seasons. I feared for a watered down version of arena football after 2004, but thankfully that didn't happen. What's with all the hatred for Peyton Manning? The guy will go down as one of the best quarterbacks ever to play the game when he retires. He's the best QB in the game right now (I might give you Tom Brady but that's it). I can understand not liking a team - although in your case, as a Bears fan, this Colts hatred befuddles me - but it's not like Manning has done anything to make somebody hate him like you appear to. He's never been arrested. He's never had any off or on the field issues. He's not a bad teammate and seems to be a genuinely good guy. Like I said, I just don't understand your dislike of the man. Plus he stars in some of the best and funniest commercials to be made in years.

That is just stupid playcalling. Why go with the motion on 4th and inches? What is the logic behind that? You're just asking for somebody to jump. Just line up, snap the ball, do the QB sneak and pick up the first down. That's what you get Bill, an interception.

The lines are too good. That and it's too much of a crapshoot in the NFL now. The combination of the two is lethal.

I'm going to swear off betting on the NFL for the time being. Only basketball for me now.
