  1. Pitt always plays a terrible schedule and is overrated. Maybe sometime this century the Big 10 will win a National Championship? Do you think? I think someone will this January. They should also be playing another Big Ten team for the title. I beleive we had a basketball team that would have won if not for standing within two feet of Sean May being a foul. Just because Illinois couldn't stop Sean May to save its life in that game doesn't mean you have to throw out untrue statements like that. Don't get me wrong, I was rooting for Illinois that year but there was no favorite playing by the refs in that game.
  2. It's last century. This century, and in this case millenium, didn't start until 2001.
  3. I don't see ARod retiring after his contract is up. His tune will change in the next couple years.
  4. Yeah. I want him to recover but I don't want him on the Cubs roster.
  5. Dallas (-3) Chicago (-13.5) Pittsburgh (-2.5) Green Bay (-5) Baltimore (-11) Jacksonville (-3.5) NY Jets (+3.5) New England (-11) New Orleans (-10) Miami (+1) Denver (-2.5) St. Louis (+1) NY Giants (-5.5) San Diego (-9) Indianapolis (-3)
  6. I agree. Furthermore, the Airing of Grievances Thread cannot begin until 12:01 Dec 23rd. The other threads can begin whenever. I nominate Jon to go to Naperville to wrestle Tim. I second that nomination. All in favor? <--in favor
  7. Festivus deserves it's own Forum.
  8. Washington's pass defense is probably the worst in the NFL: http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/teamdef.php Cincinnati's pass defense: 32nd (i.e. last) in passing ypg. Washington's pass defense: 22nd in passing ypg.
  9. Thanks for posting that Marco, I completely forgot the draw was today. This stage of the champions league is amazing. Manchester United definitely got the best draw with Lille. Barca v. Liverpool-2 clubs with themost tradition and success in the world. Roma v. Lyon-should be a great match. Celtic-AC Milan-should be good. Milan has been down because of the match fixing scandal and are doing terrible in Serie A. Celtic has dominated the SPL and had the stunning goal to beat Man U to advance through the group stage of the champions league. Last but not least, Chelsea v. Porto. The draw could've been much worse for Chelsea, they easily could have faced Madrid, Inter, or Roma. Of course, there's the sub plot of Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho, returning to face his old team, Porto. He won the Champions League with them in 2004. I'm really forward to these games. Real Madrid-Bayern Munich should be very good as well.
  10. Manning because Cincy's pass defense is horrendous.
  11. Seattle (-10) over San Francisco.
  12. "With the first pick in the 2007 NFL draft, the Oakland Raiders select...Brady Quinn."
  13. Those were some sick goals and yeah, magician is the right word. I liked the one where he beat the goalie, then beat two defenders along the goal line before putting it away. My dad told me about the Taylor goal although he didn't say the name. All he said was a guy had a wicked shot from just past the center circle. I love soccer.
  14. http://www.daytondailynews.com/s/content/oh/story/sports/pro/bengals/2006/12/10/ddn121006bendiary.html :| HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
  15. The draft is so deep in WRs that I wouldn't worry about missing out on Calvin Johnson - Jarrett, Ginn and Meachem should all be in the 8-20 range. I hope you're right, but I'm afraid Calvin won't drop below top 10 and if we keep winning, we'll be out of that area. Also, as much as I like Meachem, I doubt he goes above Calvin if Robert decides to leave early. I didn't mention Calvin because I think he's a top-5 pick. Meachem is with the guys like Ginn and Jarrett, I think. I see what you were saying in the post now. Sorry about misunderstanding it. I also doubt Ginn will drop below the top-10 so he's probably ruled out. After those two, with no disrespect for Meachem or Jarrett, I'd just as soon the Titans look at impact ends. The DEs in the draft are not high first round quality but if the Titans settle in around the teens, somebody like Abiamiri from ND or the kid from Purdue (maybe CubColtPacer or some other Big Ten fan can refresh my memory, I think his last name's Spencer) would look real good. Not that I wouldn't be happy with a WR, I just think Ginn and Calvin are a level above Meachem and Jarrett. Jarrett's going to be very good.
  16. That was a sick shot. To make it a little bitter sweet, Chelsea hit two shots off the wood work in extra time. But yeah, that shot was a screamer. I just saw the last 10 minutes of the game. How did Essien not score that goal? He was right there. My dad said it was a very good game.
  17. I can't believe Gagne is getting $6M a year.

  20. He's got a finger up on the competition. http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b174/kanumber08/DSC00621.jpg Wow, I've never actually seen the 6th finger. Wow. I haven't either. Thank you for posting that.
  21. Grossman's a bum. Play Griese. What? I'm a week late? What do you mean he had a decent game this week? No picks? Damn.
  22. Well, there is this article on ESPN.com in which Boras says Matsuzaka is worth $100M.
  23. I think somebody has posted this but it's been a while. As for the actual projections, they obviously think he'll continue to pitch in 2007 like he did post-ASB in 2006.
  24. Those two runs just ensured Benson even less PT than he's already not getting.
