  1. one second isn't going to make a bit of difference. It makes a huge difference right there-if he had one more second he could have sidestepped that defender and then dribbled up to the 3 point line-with the time he had, all he time to do was sidestep the defender, so he just decided to launch the shot while straight on rather than moving to his right. Whatever Great argument. One second makes a huge difference in that situation. Yes. Maybe one more dribble and 3 more feet. Increases the shot percentage by a lot I'm sure. Are you drunk right now? The difference between 3.1 and 2.0 in that situation is huge. I realize you made a claim and now you want to stick to it, but give us a break. Sober as a judge. How about you?The difference wasn't 3.1 and 2.0. It was whatever it was when the ball touched the floor and the Memphis player touched it and it went out of bounds. So 2.7 or whatever and 2.0. Maybe one diribble and three more feet. One dribble for a D1 player covers about 5 feet at least. Think about how big they are. Tyus Edney, anyone? 4.8 seconds cross-court. Such a great play.
  2. That's two years in a row I've underrated Memphis. I had them going out in the Sweet 16 to Kansas last year and they went to the Elite 8. This year I had them going out to Nevada in the second round and they're in the Elite 8 again and are still alive.
  3. Well, go Tennessee and UCLA!!
  4. One freaking defensive rebound. That's all they needed. Or if Acie would have made that layup. One final four team gone.
  5. Come on Acie. Do it.
  6. GET A REBOUND AGGIES!!
  7. Come on Acie. Missing layups isn't what you do.
  8. your guys played a heck of a game. I'd be proud if my school played that hard against KU. Oh wait, my school beat KU. But my team didnt' make it to the tourney, so you're still in better shape. If your team didn't make the routny you shouldn't be talking about them in the tourny thread. A bit hypocritical no? oh shut up Nice. Yet the mods tell the Illinois and Indiana fans to let it go. But you can take a shot at us, then attack a poster by telling them to shut up. I think you both need to take a http://www.jasoco.net/data/files/images/Chill%20Pill.png
  9. I dodged a bullet with the Kansas win. Come on A&M!!! Acie Law, do what you do.
  10. I love the point that Jim Rome made on his TV show today. The Texans passed up Matt Leinart, Vince Young, and Jay Cutler to end up with Schaub.
  11. That works for me.
  12. McRoberts Story My money is on him to fail. The guy is a mediocre college player and, if he even makes the NBA, will get eaten alive.
  13. He can come to Oakland :D. He'll fit right in since we don't have an offensive line either.
  14. well I would believe that better recruits will come to Minnesota now that Tubby is there. Any speculation on who will move to Kentucky? Who is the mid-major flavor of the week? SIU coach? Winthrop? VCU? It's still a lower profile job and it's Minnesota. Where do you think the average top recruit is going to like more, North Carolina or Minnesota. What does NC have to do with this? I just threw out a big name school. You could easily sub Kansas, UCLA, Duke, etc. in there for North Carolina and it wouldn't make a difference. But it does make a difference. Kansas, UCLA, Duke, NC, etc. may have a longer history of continued success, but most of that has to do with the level of coaching at that school. Duke is successful because they have a great coach, not just because it's cool to go to Duke. It's the whole package that I'm referring to not just the name of the school. A great coach + a long history of success + more exposure > A great coach.

The average recruit will never get in the game at UNC. That's why I said average top recruit.
  16. I'm going to have to miss part of the first round of games because of a high school soccer game to cover.

Monson did snag Kris Humphries(cause Coach K told him to kiss off). I happy that Smith got out of UK, the SEC programs that are one sport dominant have really harsh fans(alabama, kentucky) I'm not doubting whether or not he can get big recruits because his name alone will make recruits listen to him. And believe me, I hope he does land some major recruits and make Minnesota basketball at least respectable in the Big 10. I'm just saying that a lot of top recruits are going to think "Minnesota, why would I want to go there?" IIRC with Humphries, he was from Minnesota anyway which definitely helped. I agree with being happy for him to get out UK because of all the criticism he was under.

  20. Good move by the Gophers, meh move for Tubby. On one hand he's going to a lower profile job which means lower expectations than what he had at Kentucky. On the other hand, it's a lower profile job and he'll have a harder time landing top recruits because of it. We'll see how this works out. Since both of my parents graduated from Minnesota, I hope it works out well.
  21. Story Matt Schaub has signed a 6 year, $48M  deal with the Texans. I think we know who is going to be the starter now.
  22. Good job Tony.
  23. I bet Joe Morgan doesn't even know what a computer is. For his online chats he probably has somebody ask him the questions people send it, he answers, and another person types in Joe's response.
  24. This poll should be used for a good laugh (especially the Edmonds option).
