  1. They were the last team revealed on the CBS selection show but I would think Illinois, Arkansas, and Old Dominion were all picked after Stanford.
  2. Hooray for small sample size and making a judgment on one game. why does it piss you off so much that people are saying stanford didn't deserve a bid? Because they did deserve a bid. They had better wins and a better resume than other teams (Illinois and Arkansas). And, in this case, it's not just Stanford. It's people making a judgment based on one game and using that game to show why a team did or didn't deserve a bid. Like I said earlier, Drexel lost in the first round of the NIT and I hear people saying (not necessarily on NSBB) that the loss proves Drexel didn't deserve an NCAA bid. If Illinois wins their first round game, people (most likely on here) will say that it proves that Illinois deserved a bid to the tourney.
  3. As for best picks, LSU beating Duke in the Sweet 16 and going to the Final 4 last year is my favorite in recent memory. Almost everybody had Duke going to the Final Four. Others from last year: -A&M over Syracuse in the first round -Wisconsin-Milwaukee over Oklahoma in the first round -#7 seeds Georgetown and Wichita State over #2 seeds OSU and Tennessee respectively to go to the Sweet 16 On the other hand, I did have Kansas going to the Final Four last year. #-o
  4. Cuse was a 3 that year.
  5. Hooray for small sample size and making a judgment on one game.
  6. Stanford deserved to get in, they're just playing horrible right now. Just because a team plays poorly in the first game doesn't mean that team didn't deserve a berth. Conversely, just because a team wins their first round game or plays well doesn't mean they necessarily deserved a spot in the tournament. Same goes for the teams that were left out. Just because Drexel lost their first round NIT game doesn't mean that they didn't deserve to play in the NCAA tournament. Oh, and just to clarify, this only goes for the bubble teams. They were 18-12. They didn't deserve to get in. There's no point in arguing it anymore anyway. Maryland leads by one at the half. Arkansas didn't deserve to get in (7-9 in the SEC, please). Illinois didn't deserve to get in (9-7 in the Big 10 and they only played Wisconsin and OSU once each when if they would have played those teams twice and Minnesota and Northwestern once they would have gone 7-9). Stanford did deserve to get in (10-8 in Pac-10 playing every team twice). Stanford had wins over UCLA, Oregon, Washington State, and Arizona. What was Illinois' best win..Indiana? Please. And the committee agrees with me since Stanford was an 11 seed which means they weren't the last team in.

  8. Stanford getting hammered by Louisville right now.
  9. You're going to be so sad when my bracket becomes the "Perfect Bracket" and KU gets dropped by Kentucky in the 2nd round. :D Nine quintillion to one begs to differ. :D
  10. UNC then Ohio State.
  11. pretty close to what I have. And hopefully people don't have Southern Illinois going too far, since they'll be out in Round One. :D How can UCLA win the title when they won't even make it to the Final Four?
  12. UCLA can't play Texas until the National Title game.
  13. Good news for Theriot. I like this and the quote from Lou about Hill being in the rotation.
  14. I'm changing my vote to Billy Packer even though he's not listed (but he should be).
  15. Saw Bonds' fun with the sun in left field today which was hilarious. Also saw Z's triple (and running blunder) on SportsCenter. I knew I felt an earthquake during the middle of the day.
  16. i noticed this as well...what a jagbag You have never misspoke before? Be a little more critical why don't ya? sure i have...but speaking on national television isn't my job. also, i'll be as critical as i want to be...who are you? his brother? So because he's on national television he's not allowed to make any mistakes? That makes sense. of course he's allowed to make mistakes, and we're allowed to call him a rectal plunger for them criticizing people for being critical is, in itself, critical, right? so you should be less critical of people exercising their God-given right to call hubert davis a douche, because that's what he is. Criticizing him because you disagree with his opinion is one thing and is fine. Criticizing him because he made one little mistake on live television on the other hand, is quite lame.

  18. Ha! Drexel's head coach's name is Bruiser Flint.
  19. Yeah seriously, this is ridiculous. It's live television and he misspoke. Give him a break. He meant Big Ten.
  20. Arkansas really shouldn't be in the tournament.
  21. Texas A&M shouldn't have lost so early in the Big 12 tourney. Too bad they don't play in the CUSA. Memphis' resume looks better. Memphis: 30-3, #8 RPI, #75 SOS, 6-3 vs Top 100 RPI, non-con RPI of 16 and non-con SOS of 22. Texas A&M: 25-6, #17 RPI, #57 SOS, 8-6 vs Top 100 RPI, non-con RPI of 35 and non-con SOS of 141. The only reason people are hating on Memphis is because they played in C-USA when it's clear that they played a tougher non-con schedule by far. They've only played 3 games against any type of competition(Houston is in the RPI top 100 but they're not good) since THANKSGIVING. They play in a crappy conference, big deal. I don't care what they've done since thanksgiving, I care what they did the whole year. And for the whole year, Memphis' resume is better, as I showed above.

I was just referring to your comment about the tournament. Ah, I see. Well in that case, yes it is.
  23. thank you, i made a comment about this a couple of pages ago...it's kinda ridiculous. Pretty shocking to me as well looking at their resume.
