  1. I look at it more that Alabama lost because Milroe just isn't very good throwing the ball and that really limits what you can do as an offense.
  2. I was thinking that’s a pretty crazy non-conference schedule but then when I looked up the schedule I realized Wash is a Big 10 game next year.
  3. No idea how Jota survives this horrific challenge from the goalkeeper. True credit to him for continuing to play on after this. I get that while yes, there was contact from the GKer on Jota and that because it was rule a PK on the field, it's not a clear and obvious error. But this being a PK is so stupid. Jota didn't need to go down. He wasn't knocked off balance and he wasn't impeded. He got lightly grazed, took another step and then fell. If soccer rules made sense, this would be a yellow for diving.
  4. Also boy did they get lucky that the punt returner didn’t knock that ball a couple yards further back. Wonder if UMFan survived that one.
  5. Great game. Though Michigan was done when they recovered that fumble, missed the FG and then Bama went up 7. Just didn’t think their offense would move it down the field for a TD.
  6. Obviously I think most people would prefer it to be 34-31 right now but any sort of close game is fine by me. We've had too many blowouts over the years in these semifinal games for me to be too picky.
  7. It's a perfect comparison because, just like FSU, Texas A&M was also playing one of the best couple teams in college football that had won 29 straight games before losing in it's conference title game. Oh wait, they played a team that lost at home to South Alabama 33-7 and at UCF 45-3 (both of those teams were 6-6 before the bowls).
  8. Also Ohtani is pretty unique in terms of how much money he makes from endorsements. So he can take $2M per year in salary from the Dodgers because he’s getting paid superstar money in endorsements.
  9. I mean if we're talking baseball, the 2016 Cubs probably qualified. Had a ton of young talent, won 97 games in 2015, destroyed the league in August and Sept, went out and signed Heyward (I know it didn't work out but he was the most sought after position player FA), Zobrist and Lackey (3 of the top 18 in terms of FA dollars signed for that offseason) plus brought back Fowler. That's after signing one of the top-2 most sought after FA pitchers (Lester) the year before.
  10. Jorginho does a similar run up, though he usually pauses right before kicking to get the GKer to give away which way he’s going to dive.
  11. Good group of ties minus Man City against Copenhagen.
  12. Yep! With West Ham and Villa on deck, ManU has a couple good chances to get him canned. In general, I do agree with you. But sometimes whoever makes the decision does need a really bad result (or a string of bad results) to push them to make the move. I think that's something most people experience at some point in their life, like ending a relationship or changing jobs. It's sort of a final straw type of thing.
  13. Yeah, the obvious dives they do give cards for it. Bissouma got sent off earlier this year for a second yellow on an awful dive. The ref just needs to be certain it was a dive and since yellow card offenses aren't reviewed, a lot of dives don't get punished.
  14. Could be. Liverpool dropped off big time last year after they went down to the wire with City in 21-22 plus made the final of the UCL, FA Cup and League Cup. But City was down 8 points to Arsenal (with a game in hand) with 10 games to go last year and still won the league with 2 games to spare.
  15. Because that’s how these teams tend to act. Like if they don’t think he’s their guy but he beats Liverpool, they won’t fire him. But if Liverpool embarrasses them 4-0, they might. I’m not saying it’s right. Just how it seems to be. I’m surprised they haven’t fired him already. Different sport but Brandon Staley today is a good example. He was likely gone at the end of the year anyway. But they got slaughtered yesterday so the Chargers pulled the trigger. If the Chargers had beaten the Raiders yesterday, no way he gets fired today.
  16. No but if they get smashed again or are horribly outclassed it could be the end. He’s already on thin ice. They’re in 6th in the league and have won 9 games but the best team they’ve beaten is Fulham in 10th. Their next 3 games are at Liverpool (1st), at West Ham (9th) and home to Villa (3rd). They’re not just going to keep letting him lose games.
  17. Yes! The GM is out too.
  18. Yeah, that's not even really sign stealing.
  19. Draymond suspended indefinitely. It’s the right call by Silver.
  20. Can't wait for Friday when we get to hear that Draymond ranted on his podcast that the NBA is out to get him and whatever other horsefeathers he likes to spew after he gets a technical, ejection or suspension.
  21. ManU finish bottom of their UCL group. If ten Hag doesn’t get sacked for this, the final nail could be losing at Liverpool this weekend.
  22. Is there a good team in the AFC? The Ravens I guess. Miami has beaten 1 team with a record better than 5-8 (Denver at 7-6 but that was when Denver was a disaster). Jags are ok. Chiefs can't catch the ball. Cleveland and Cincy have good rosters but have backup QBs. I don't really trust any of these teams. Last year for the whole year we were pretty certain KC, Buffalo and Cincy were really good. And in the NFC we had Philly and SF. This year it's the 49ers and the Ravens I guess. Unless you want to throw Dallas in there. But even them I'm not sure anyone trusts Mike McCarthy not to F it up in the playoffs. And Dallas kind of has a prove it stretch the rest of the way with @Buf, @ Mia and vs. Det.
  23. No because he’d be getting paid that money over the life of the contract. But he signed a 10 year contact and will be paid $700M in actual dollars. Therefore the CBT should be $70M per year. This is no different than the Dodgers offering him a 15 year, $700M contract which I believe MLB wouldn’t allow since it would take him to age 43, past a reasonable playing age. I can’t seem to find it but I swear the Padres were prevented from doing this last winter. And I know hockey has voided multiple contracts for attempting to do the same thing.
  24. Going to need someone to explain to me why the Jags went for 2 yesterday. They’re down 10 and they get a TD with 1:33 left. They go for 2 and don’t get it so they’re down 4. I get it if you’re down 14 because if you don’t get it, you still need a TD. But by not getting it here, the Jags now need a TD instead of a FG which I would think would change the math quite a bit.
  25. It's fine. The Dodgers will just defer 95% of his money until 2156 so their luxury tax bill will only be $3M per season for him!
