  1. I’ve been betting against the Cubs over the last 10ish days (minus the two Sox games) and I’ve been enjoying it quite a bit. Keep up the good work, Cubs.
  2. Same here. I figured at the very least they’d be watchable for the year. Haven’t watched a game in over 2 weeks now.
  3. Was talking to a coworker who is a Yankees fan yesterday and Rizzo got brought up. He said something about Rizzo being aggressive on the bases and how it often won't work out. All I could do was chuckle because a Rizzo TOOTBLAN when he was with the Cubs was a staple for years.
  4. They’ve now lost 11 in a row and 15 of 16 and are 15-45 on the year with a -138 RD. This got me to look up the 2023 A’s, who were 12-48 after 60 games with a -210 RD. So it could be worse!
  5. I'll pretty much never root for Real unless they play Chelsea, but I have to say they're a lot less hate-able now that Sergio Ramos, Ronaldo, Pepe and Marcelo are no longer there.
  6. This thing has 85th minute Real winner written all over it. Dortmund with the better of the action in the 1st half but can’t score.
  7. Lol Cubs. Just take the 2nd and 3rd with one out with your 3 hitter up.
  8. I see it’s fake rally time again.
  9. The last time Chelsea had a manager last more than 4 full seasons was 1967-74 so I'm going to say that 6th year option wasn't necessary.
  10. Ditto. I checked in on the game twice, in the 5th and 7th innings, and didn't even consider tuning in. Likely won't tune in tomorrow either.
  11. Back to back fake rallies. Nice job, Cubs!
  12. Who was the poster who was wrong about weather delays likes 90% of the time? This reminded me of him. Not making fun of you at all. We all know the weather radar is always accurate and things can change even 3-4 hours before a storm is supposed to hit. Just a "remember that old poster" thing.
  13. I don’t understand why, when a team challenges who the ball was off of, the NBA is okay with making the referees only look at who the ball touched last while ignoring the other parts of a play. 40 seconds left today, Kyrie fouls a Wolves player and the refs don’t call it. Ball goes off the Wolves player last. Mavs challenge and win and get the ball. It would be so easy to change that rule and yet they don’t.
  14. Can someone explain Vincent Kompany to Bayern for me? Two years coaching in Belgium, one year in the Championship (won the title) and one year in the EPL (19th). He certainly could work out. Zidane spent a year and a half with Real’s B team as head coach before getting the head job and that worked out. Just seems like Bayern could have done better with a more proven coach.
  15. Can you imagine if Hawk was calling this game? It might have actually caused him to have a heart attack on air.
  16. So a similar thing could happen in Italy. Atalanta is guaranteed a UCL spot due to winning the Europa League. They’re in 5th, 2 points back of Juve and Bologna but with a game in hand. If Atalanta finishes 5th, then their bonus spot goes to Roma in 6th. But if they jump to 4th or 3rd, Roma will go to the Europa. None of the teams have anything to play for as they’re all in the UCL for sure. There’s also a scenario where Atalanta loses twice, Roma wins their last game and makes up 8 on the GD and finishes 5th, which would give Roma the extra spot.
  17. Good for Atalanta. Never won a Serie A (best finish was 3rd). This is only the 10th season they’ve played in a European competition and they’ve only made the semifinals once before today. This is their first European final. Their only major trophy is the Coppa Italia in 62-63 unless you want to count their 6 Serie B titles. Nothing against Leverkusen but they’ve already got the league and should get the Pokal also. Though an undefeated season would have been pretty cool.
  18. Here we go again. Leverkusen down 2-0 inside 30 minutes.
  19. Spurs and Newcastle playing a game in fucking Australia less than 72 hours after both finished their season on Sunday is absurd.
  20. Pacers sure blew that thing in the last minute of regulation. Haliburton losing his dribble and then forcing the ball inbounds leading to a turnover and the game tying three when they could have called timeout.
  21. Never heard of Stu Schuerwater before but he had 3 of those.
  22. Most teams would be very happy with a first year manager whose team improved by 19 points, improved its GD by 23, improved its league position by 6 spots, qualified for Europe, and made a Cup final and a semifinal But at Chelsea you get fired leave by mutual consent.
  23. I think he might have been safe regardless but the catcher dropped the ball so it doesn’t matter.
