  1. The part about the Dodgers separating her from her husband and having security surround her while pressuring her to give it up is much more damning.
  2. Looks like all three did have European games in there. I’d still dismiss Rangers though because the Scottish league isn’t on the level of Holland or Portugal.
  3. Yeah, if Betts had retired after 2023 he’s probably still a HOFer.
  4. Does San Jose even have a stadium big enough? The San Jose Giants are there but wikipedia tells me their stadium only has a capacity of 4200. Raley Field is 14000.
  5. Only 8 teams have a longer unbeaten run in all competitions than Leverkusen's current streak of 40 games.
  6. Pretty excited about this. Cubs should be coming to Sac in 2025 and 2027.
  7. I liked this game a lot better when it was 8-2.
  8. Not a great second half for Illinois so far.
  9. Good to see Alonso is staying at Leverkusen for another year. I’m sure he wants to lead them in the UCL too. Makes it more likely they keep some of the players too.
  10. Duke gets a 13, a 12, a 1 who loses their best player in the first half and an 11 seed on their FF run. At least when they make the FF they'll get a 1 or 2.
  11. Players aren’t forbidden from gambling. They’re forbidden from gambling on baseball.
  12. The difference being McCarthy can actually throw the ball while Tebow couldn’t. I’m not saying McCarthy is good or won’t be a bust. Just that comparing him to Tebow isn’t fair.
  13. I had the same thought. No need for him to slide how he did.
  14. That being said, the catcher needs to just go get the ball first and then complain later.
  15. That's a pretty stupid thing to not be reviewable. I mean either it hit the bat or it didn't. It's a pretty cut and dry play.
  16. Should have been a foul ball but I'll take it.
  17. I hope the US players do whatever they can to get another goal kick. The protocol is irrelevant at this point. They know the game is over so they're going to chant because what the horsefeathers do they care if the match gets abandoned. This will never stop until they make Mexico forfeit competitive matches or boot them out of a competitive tournament.
  18. Northwestern scored 19 points in the first half and 19 points in OT.
  19. All of a sudden Kansas is only up 3 on Samford with 5 minutes left.
  20. I agree that he wasn't getting fired but a lot of people don't like Berhalter and didn't want him back so the frustration is understandable.
  21. I’d love to know what changed in between the Ohtani rep saying Ohtani transferred the money on behalf of the interpreter to then accusing him of massive theft. Theres got to be way more to this story than we know.
  22. In the late 90's, you had 3-4 choices as a baseball fan as far as routinely watching a specific team. You watched your local team(s). You watched the Cubs on WGN. You watched the Braves on TBS. There are many thousands of people who are Cubs fans right now solely because of the 98 home run chase. I was already a Cubs fan but I was 13 that year and Sosa going after 60, plus the Cubs making a playoff push, certainly solidified that. I would watch the Cubs in the summer when school was out. And when school was in, I would come home and tune into the last couple innings on WGN to find out if Sammy homered or not. So yeah, in terms of growing a fanbase, it's unlikely any other Cub had as much of an affect on that as Sammy.
