    Too worn out to fight...And it's only April! According to ESPN.com, only 5.6% of teams in the last 25 years to finish April 3 games or more under .500. Huh? Am I missing something here? Only 5.6% of playoff teams in the last 25 years finished 3 games or more under .500 in April. That's nice. Doesn't really tell us anything. Well, it tells us that if you suck in April that chances are you're not a playoff team.

    is he in AAA? Yes. His stats: 31 IP, 0.29 ERA, 46 K, 11 BB, .119 BAA. Dude is a stud. My editor (a Giants fan) was a little disappointed he didn't make the big league club out of Spring Training.

    I completely agree. LaRussa is being hypocritical in his statements in the article Chris posted the link to. LaRussa is talking about the media "trying to further their own agendas" when he is doing exactly that. He realizes that if he condemns drinking and driving, he's screwing himself and that's the last thing he wants to do. So now he's trying to downplay a serious problem because he doesn't want to shed any more negative light on himself.

    I know if I show up late, hungover, and unable to perform they will intrude in my personal life by removing me from their payroll. Even if it was for the first time? That seems a little extreme. I'm gonna take a shot in the dark and guess the incident that got him a $500 fine wasn't his first time.

    Health/team dependant. Average OPS+ over the last four years: Fonz: 117 Pods: 89 Much better choice than runs scored. The fact that there's an argument about who is a better leadoff man between the 2nd worst hitter in baseball (behind GRINDERSTAD) and Fons is a testament to how underwhelming Soriano has been. Hope he fares better, for your sake. Awesome nickname.

    Liverpool is in a tough spot here. They have to get a goal but have to be careful because if they give one up, they'll have to get three to move on.

    Did the locals cops give a break to the hometown athlete? Oversleeping for a game is a sure sign of somebody with issues. Somebody wrote earlier this year that while steroids were a problem, drunk driving was an even bigger problem with the players. We've seen Tony get busted this year, and now a guy with multiple accidents who can't get to the field in time was reportedly drinking before driving in a crash. This whole quote amazes me but especially the bolded part. Yeah, LaRussa was asleep at the wheel but what could have happened if he wasn't. Just pure ignorance by this idiot.
