  1. We need to use yards per game more. OJ in 1973 averaged 143 yards per game, which is 10 more than anyone else has done. Walter Payton also missed out on a 2K season due to only playing 14 games.
  2. Burnley is in 3rd in the EFL Championship despite scoring only 39 goals in 33 games, which is tied for 12th out of 24 teams. How are they in third? Well they've allowed 9 goals this year. In case you don't feel like doing the math, that means that in Burnley's 33 league games this year there have been 48 goals total. They've had 11 games end 0-0 this year. They haven't allowed a goal in the league in 11 straight games, which dates back to Dec 26. They haven't allowed 2 goals in a game all year. The record for fewest goals allowed in a season in the Championship is 30.
  3. Totally fair while the players are still playing, especially since it seems to happen on a week to week basis in the playoffs. When Mahomes is 38 or whatever and nearing the end? Sure.
  4. Speaking of discourse I'm tired of hearing... Can we stop with the "well Tom Brady never got blown out in a Super Bowl" stuff and a reason why Mahomes will never be the GOAT. Sure, it's true that Brady's SB losses were all close. You know what's also true? Tom Brady lost by 19 to Joe Flacco in a game where Brady threw two picks and fumbled in the first quarter and the Pats trailed 24-0 after the first quarter. Tom Brady also lost to Joe Flacco twice, Jake Plummer, Mark Sanchez, Nick Foles and Ryan Tannehill in the playoffs. Brady is still the GOAT and Mahomes isn't anywhere close to it yet despite being on a trajectory to get there (and there's a decent chance he never gets there). But people act like Brady never laid an egg in a playoff game which is just wrong.
  5. He was a fine QB. He’s just not a HOFer.
  6. My favorite Eli fact is that the only category he ever led the league in for a season was interceptions, which he did 3 times. I realize that Eli is going to make the HOF because his last name is Manning, he won two SB and he played in New York. But Eli 100% should not be elected to the HOF. This isn’t a response to you, minny. The Eli HOF stuff out there bugs the crap out of me.
  7. And it’s not like he has the excuse of having played in the AFC where it was Brady, Manning or Mahomes almost every year. After Rodgers in 2010, it was Eli, Kaep, Wilson twice, Newton, Ryan, Wentz/Foles, Goff, Garoppolo, Brady, Stafford and Hurts.
  8. Heck of an ending for the final Merseyside Derby at Goodison.
  9. Is it bad to shoot 12-52 including 1-23 from 3 in a half?
  10. Yep. That’s what Tampa did to him a few years ago and what the Giants did to Brady.
  11. Hurts will get MVP but the Philly defense as a whole is what's winning this game. It took KC 43 minutes just to get past midfield.
  12. Well this sucks. I don't really care who wins. Just wanted a close game.
  13. Refs blowing some big calls. -the offensive PI on AJ Brown absolutely wasn't. -the unnecessary roughness call against the Chiefs was wrong (I think Brown was the target on this one). Both of those were on 3rd down. First one ended the Philly drive and the second one extended it. Then the unnecessary roughness against KC on 2nd and 26 was really soft. That type of hit happens all the time. KC's offense has looked awful but they had a chance to get the ball back with over 2 minutes left and they receive coming out of half. 10 points on those two drives and they're right back in this.
  14. At his pace this year (26 goals in 38 games) he’s would score 16 goals in 23 games which would be one goal better than Gretzky. Pretty wild that at age 39 he’s scoring at a 56 goal pace. Gretzky scored 25 in 82 at 36, 23 in 82 at 37 and 9 in 70 at 38.
  15. I hadn’t heard the part about no other teams knowing about it. This is just baffling. I mean, the fans are likely to be angry over a Luka trade whether they heard rumors he was being shopped or not. What’s the harm in checking around with teams. Like the Lakers arent going to say in 48 hours “you know, we really like Luka but since you offered him to other teams, we’re out”. There’s no downside to asking around.
  16. The only way this makes sense is if Luka said he was gone after his contract runs out after next season right? You can’t let Luka go for nothing and maybe the Mavs wanted to prioritize still being good rather than getting a haul of picks and AD was the best guy on the table.
  17. What. The. Fuck.
  18. Playoff round draw. I still don’t like that they don’t do the whole draw at once but whatever.
  19. Man City up 3-1 now. However the way the results stand now they’ll draw either Real Madrid or Bayern Munich in the first knockout round.
  20. Man City down 1-0 at home to Club Brugge at half. If they don’t win, they’re out of the UCL.
  21. That sounds about right. At the very least it takes a few days to pop up.
  22. I bet the Chiefs before the year so I probably won’t bet a side on the game. I will, however, once again make way too many prop bets, which is always fun.
  23. First team to win back to back Super Bowls and then make the Super Bowl the next year and the first team to make 5 Super Bowls in 6 seasons.
  24. Eagles +9 on turnovers in the playoffs now.
