I really hope this game isn't suspended. It would be the second Cubs-Cardinals game on ESPN to be suspended this year. At least this time it would be because of the weather and not some idiot.

I watched almost the entire LA-NY match last night. Its probably stating the obvious, but 3 players were clearly the best on the pitch: Beckham, Alitdore, and Angel. I'm so excited to watch Altidore grow into an even better player. Beckham is a monster. His passing is so crisp and the free kicks he assisted on were beautiful, while the NY defense on them was atrocious. 66,000 people were there to watch it to. Big Chelsea-Liverpool match this morning at Anfield. I don't have a good feeling, but I'd be happy with a point coming out of this one. Jozy Altidore is going to be the real deal. His 2nd goal last night was just pure class. Just saw the highlights of that one and yeah, that was a sweet goal. I also enjoyed the Clint Mathis sighting.

Man U lost to Man City 1-0 today. The defending champs now have just 2 points through 3 games.

While this is true, he not only got Nomar for virtually nothing but he got the Red Sox to give the Cubs Matt Murton as well.

Winning this game would do two wonderful things: 1. Guarantee a series win against the Cardinals with the potential for a four-game sweep. 2. Guarantee that the Cardinals would be two games further back from the Cubs at the end of the series than they were at the beginning of the series with the potential to be four games back. Get it done Z.

Must be just your local affiliate... the national game is on CBS tonight (Chargers @ Rams). Or if you're in Northern California, it's the Raiders-49ers.

It sounds like the game would be over if they can't get it in today. I'm not sure though because the rules don't address this situation.

Nope. Under the new rules, it's now suspended. With one more strike and then a delay would it be complete - i.e. if Duncan struck out to end the top of the eighth and then there was a delay, would the game still be suspended?

A delay with a 1-2 count with two outs? Christ, just let the batter finish.

I'm following on Gameday and listening to Pat and Ron. Gameday came up first but just said "In play, run(s)" so I had no idea what happened but was already excited because the Cubs scored. Then I heard Pat and Ron's call. Awesome.
