  1. Wouldn't shock me to see 1 or 2 on that list being moved Glaus or Burrell; long shots would be Griffey, Vasquez. Why would the Phillies want to get rid of Burrell now?
  2. He's been injured most of the year.
  3. There's no way ARam is overproducing right now. His OPS is right at where it was last year and down a bit from 04 and 05. Like somebody else said, Fontenot has sucked the past month with a .211/.269/.211/.481 line in July. He was way overproducing in June but has been underproducing in July. Ted Lilly might be overproducing but not by much. Not only did he go from the AL to the NL (which makes it easier because you face the pitcher) but he went from having to face the Yankees and the Red Sox 38 times to the weakest division in baseball.
  4. He's been saying that all year long after a short outing. Yes, IMO this team is ONE of the worst since the late 90s. ONE of not THE. There have been 2 good teams since 2000: 03 and 04. There has been 2 average team: 01 and 05. There have been 3 terrible teams: 00, 02, 06. This team ranks behind 03 and 04 but ahead of the others.
  5. no way... '03 and '04 were better, but the '00, '02, '06 teams were complete trash ('06 probably was the worst) and the '01 team was sammy sosa and a bunch of other guys. EDIT - '05 team was just mediocre, not complete trash. This is the best team ever. Just keep believing!!! Nice to see Wood running out on the field with the team :-) I really don't think it's wise for Kerry to be running anywhere. I kid. I kid. I can't wait to see him trot out of the pen for the first time in the next couple days.
  6. What's the situation? I know Murton doubled and went to third on a PB but that's it.
  7. Leadoff doubles are nice especially if you capitalize. Please score, Cubs.
  8. Thank the lord. Please score here, Cubs, and just end this game.
  9. PBP by someone would be greatly appreciated.
  10. My internet had better be installed at my apartment before this game starts.
  11. he was actually quite unlucky. the first run was the result of some soft singles that found holes, the second was a result of a high fly by Iguchi that Jones lost sight of, and the third came on a dinger by Burrell when the pitch before very well could have been called strike three. he got away with a couple pitches, but also struck out Howard and got Rowand to gidp to get out of a couple of jams. it wasn't a great performance, but it wasn't like that game in Milwaukee really either. That's certainly good to hear. Thanks for the info.
  12. Meh. Brewers are at home where they're expected to win. Just wait until they go on the road again. Hopefully the Mets can take one of the next two.
  13. Thanks for the PBP, Vance.
  14. Alou will go deep in the 13th. I can feel it.
  15. 2-3-4 coming up for the Mets. Time to get some runs.
  16. Thank you Ryan Braun.
  17. Since I am without cable and internet at home at the moment (I'm at work now), I'm glad to see the Cubs won. Would I be correct in assuming Marquis got a little lucky today in giving up 8 hits and 3 walks but only allowing three runs? How did he look? Also, another great job by the pen.
  18. if all goes well, only the Cubs will be playing games in October. Oops. I meant September.
  19. Stupid Cubs though with Hamels pitching it was expected. Got to win 2 of the next 3 against the Phils.
  20. Good play by both Kendall and Dempster. Well, other than Dempster's pitch in the dirt that made that play necessary.
