  1. I really don't know who to pull for in this game. On one hand I would like to see the Brewers lose so the Cubs have the chance to gain some ground but on the other hand the Cards won the first two games of the series and I don't really want them to sweep the Brewers.
  2. Very nice catch by Griffey. Rammy follows it up with an RBI double.
  3. I can't believe that Kendall actually hit a home run today. It's a miracle. Note: I'm in no way saying the guy sucks, just that he rarely hits home runs anymore.
  4. Since I'm up after Flames for the Game Thread starting, I think I'll start planning out my thread soon. After all, I'll be able to start it in around 15 hours after the Cubs lose this game.
  5. I wasn't too optimistic about my team for this week because I also have Ronaldo as my captain but my team scored 36 points this week which was only less than wolf. :D
  6. I've gone from really liking this team to really disliking this team in the matter of a week.
  7. I'm guessing by one player.
  8. Sweet. I love my FSC investment already. :D dude .. have you yet seen the show (i think it's "premier league fanzone") where "they" let the fans do the commentary? they replay a fixture from the weekend and instead of the normal play-by-players, they have 1 fan from each side call the action. and if that's not enough, other fans are encouraged to send in text messages which scroll at the bottom of the screen. i stumbled upon it last season and am glad i did so. absolutely hilarious, particularly when goals are scored or controversial calls are made. Haven't seen that before but I'll definitely be on the lookout for it...sounds hilarious.
  9. I'll be watching this one so hopefully the Cubs will play well and win.
  10. I would like to apologize to everybody. Since I took credit for the last two games the Cubs won (on Thursday and Friday) because I watched them, I will also take the blame for the last three losses since I was unable to watch any of the games. I will watch tomorrow's game. So please, blame me for the last three losses.
  11. I would like to petition for either davhern (5-1) or Southpaw19 (7-1) to be moved to the top of the list to hopefully jumpstart a Cubs winning streak. because this losing thing has to stop now.
  12. Sweet. I love my FSC investment already. :D
  13. I really, really hate Ryan Braun. Almost as much as I hate Brad Lidge.
  14. Except it's not. Marshall has been solid with the exception of two or three starts this year and Rich Hill had an ERA of 2.64 post-ASB (it was 3.81 pre-ASB) coming into the game. He had starts where he allowed 2, 1, 2, 3, and 1 ER's in his five post-ASB starts. Why do people keep saying/implying that pitching is a problem with this team. IT'S NOT. It's the offense that is the problem. Well, I didn't exactly say that. Does anyone honestly feel comfortbale with Hill on the mound? Once one little thing goes wrong, a snowball effect occurs. I like Marshall, I would start Marshall over Hill all things being equal right now. I'm not ignoring the offense, but how much can you really expect tonight without 2 of their best hitters? I know this much though, you can't give up 6 runs and expect to win. Sorry, I guess I should have specified. My second paragraph wasn't addressed to you rather the people who complain about the pitching in general.

  16. why, wait, what? He has to pay taxes on a ball? They said that he might have to pay a tax on what would be an assumed income he would get by catching the ball. It's a bunch of crap but I don't know if it will actually happen.
  17. Kendall/Soto is the best combo but like Derwood said, with how hot Kendall is right now he should be playing. And since Kendall should be playing right now and will be playing most of the time, there's no point in bringing Soto up to sit on the bench. I'd much rather have Koyie Hill playing once every 5 days and have Soto playing every day in AAA than have Soto take Hill's position as backup with the Cubs.
  18. Maybe in the Bears game. It takes the Cubs 2 months worth of Rich Hill starts to score 18 runs for him. Cubs lose 6-1.
