Jerk. I'm still stuck with Marquis Tuesday night, for which I will be closer to home plate than the first baseman will be. Maybe they won't even try to play tomorrow and I can still see Lilly for that game. Z only threw 44 pitches tonight (pretty much like a side session between starts). He could very easily be ready for Game 3 of the series. Thanks for the bit of optimism, but fact still stands that while I'm enjoying the best seats of my life, I'll be watching Marquis pitch. Check your PM's.

Well, for me, one good thing came out of Zambrano starting today - now I get to see Hill on Wednesday and Marshall on Thursday. Had the game never been started everyone would have been pushed back a day and I would have been stuck with Jason Marquis on Wednesday.

They really need to or else they're in a pickle. The Cardinals don't play in Chicago any more this year, so if they don't play tonight or tomorrow that means St. Louis would need to come back to Chicago to play a make-up double header on a mutual day off. There are only two mutual days off remaining this season.Didn't the Giants and someone else recently only play 161 games in a season, due to lack of playoff implication? If both games are ppd, and they make up one of them on the 27th and don't have a good date to make up the other, can they not just put it off until the last day of the season and just say forget it if the outcome wouldn't make a difference in the playoff picture? A Giants-Cards game was never played last year.

So if they called the game and scheduled a DH for tomorrow, these 2.5 innings don't count and they would start the game over, right?

Won't be a DH tomorrow. Why not? Both teams play night games the following night. We have to head to the West Coast tomorrow, though. It'd be doable maybe, but absolutely not ideal. Tuesday's game against the Giants isn't until 7 p.m.
