  1. Yes, you read that right. His ERA (not ERA+) is 108 with the Orioles. He allowed four earned runs in 1/3 of an inning. I'm am not saying anything about his talent, I just find it hilarious.
  2. Gotta be App. St. Also, this was the kids second career ML start.
  3. Thank goodness the Cubs won today. I might have punched something if they didn't.
  4. How was the stadium? I can now confirm they have 1554 at the nugget - well they did until I bought all they had in stock. Sounds like you could use one. The stadium was very nice. It was near capacity for the first half but, unsurprisingly, a bunch of people left at halftime because of how hot it was. And yeah, I really could use a beer right now. Maybe I'll have one before heading to work.
  5. I've never been more embarrassed to be an Aggie in my life. That was an absolutely pathetic display of football. First game in the new stadium against a Division II team and we lose. Horrible. Complete and total garbage. The defense as a whole was abysmal. Our defensive backs couldn't cover a quadriplegic today. Our defensive line rarely got to the quarterback and he threw for 362 yardss. Western Washington was 12-21 on third-down conversions with 8 of those being for TEN YARDS OR MORE. I hesitate to criticize the running back because he ran for 189 yards on 19 carries though one of those was a 90 yard TD run. He did have two fumbles both of which WWU recovered. There was also some questionable play calling in the fourth quarter. UCD was down 7 and had first and goal from the four with between 4 and 5 minutes left. Rather than mixing in a playaction or some sort of pass, he runs three times (3 yd gain, 1 yd loss, 3 yd loss) before finally passing on fourth and goal from the 5. Horrible. I am so pissed right now.
  6. To be fair, a lot of people seemed to agree that Michigan was wildly overrated. Even before today I didn't think they were even one of the top 2 or 3 teams in the Big Ten. There's no way Michigan is the fourth best team in the Big Ten. I'll give you Wisconsin and would at least listen to an argument for OSU (though I don't think they're that good), but who else? Penn State? Iowa? Illinois?
  7. Yeah, it probably would be closer in a more neutral location but USC dominated Michigan in that game and was clearly the superior team. I also agree with you, like my response to Derwood's post, that the NCAA should regulate some of the OOC scheduling. Something like the ACC-Big 10 challenge would be wonderful or rotating the conferences that play each other every year. And I just used the bowl games because you said the Big Ten took 2 of 3 from the SEC last year in bowl games.
  8. I probably won't be watching much of this game at all as I'll be going to the UCD football game.
  9. Plus then you're going to come back and ask Dempster to throw strikes to the very next batter. Just do it intentionally and be done with it.
  10. If the Cubs win the next two games, all will be good.
  11. Well, at least they didn't get shutout.
  12. I don't know if they should necessarily rank the teams but having something like the ACC-Big 10 challenge they have in basketball would be wonderful.
  13. Tennessee beat the crap out of Cal last year. Also, sure the Big Ten took 2 of 3 against the SEC last year but their top 2 teams got absolutely waxed in their bowl games. Last year, and probably again this year, it's the top four (OSU, Wisc, UM, PSU) and then the rest is crap. Purdue and Minnesota were 5 and 6 in the Big 10 last year - do you really they would stand a chance against any of Tennessee/Georgia/Auburn/LSU/Arkansas (depending on who you consider to be #5 and #6 in the SEC in 06)? Of course not. Oh, and the Big 10 went 2-5 in the bowls last year. Overrated.
  14. I'm guessing you didn't mean to type I dropped the soap over and over again there. No, I did not mean to type that. I typed the two letter internet abbreviation for "effing" and that keeps showing up. WTF? Word filter. It's the same with a part of the female anatomy turning into Rusch and Muskat (but with an 'r' between the k and the a) turning into Muskat.
  15. no. I can say Sudwerks though! Hah! You going there tonight?
  16. I'm guessing you didn't mean to type I dropped the soap over and over again there.
  17. So we're facing a lefty again tomorrow and then Woody Williams and his 2.37 ERA vs the Cubs in 2007 on Sunday. Can you say sweep?
  18. I really wish we had gotten buried by June...This would be a lot less painful to watch and we'd get a decent draft pick. That's just ridiculous. WE'RE IN FIRST PLACE! Remember the feeling, we won't end September that way. yeah, because the other teams in this division are so good. They don't have to be good, they just have to be less terrible than this team who struggles to get 2 runs a game. I hope I'm wrong, the 5 games against the Cards will probably be the decisive factor. len just laid it out. if we play .500 the brewers have to go 17-12, the cardinals even better. I understand that we have the advantage...but it's not like we've been playing .500 ball since we cooled off. who besides, cinncy has in this division? August records: Cards are 14-13 Cubs are 12-15 Astros are 14-14 Brewers are 8-18 Reds are 17-10 Pirates are 17-12 So only the Cubs and Brewers are playing sub-.500 ball in August.
  19. How do you figure? It was 4.02 coming into today and he gave up 4 ERs in 3.6 IP ONly 1ER rest are unearned. Huh? How are they unearned? error on Aram Wasn't that the first batter of the inning? Those runs should be earned, two of them should at least. It's not Aram's fault that Marshall gave up a bomb to Hunter Pence. The runs all came with two outs. Wigginton reached on the error, Burke singled, Ausmus flied out and Rodriguez out on sac bunt. The inning should have been over there (and yes, I know that Wandy wouldn't have bunted with two outs but he still made an out). Then Pence hit the home run.
  20. Nothing like getting shut down by Magic Wandy.
  21. Wait, did a Cubs catcher actually throw out a runner?!?! It's a miracle.
