  1. Perfect defensive positioning by the Brewers there.
  2. Huge fist pump from Z after the K. I hope to see 8 more of those today.
  3. I said the same thing a couple days ago. The Reds don't have a chance.
  4. I really don't understand why this is such a big deal.
  5. In regards to your first point, you have to consider both the hitter and pitcher splits. Both of your pitchers are typically good against lefties but one pitcher is a right and the other is a lefty. The batter you are facing is far better against righties than lefties. But like you said, you have to consider what you're going to do with Monroe and Kendall after Jones bats. It would seem to me that Yost didn't want Shouse to face just one batter or face Monroe and Kendall so he left Linebrink in and he got burned.
  6. I'll take a 2006 Soriano please Unfortunately those numbers were scewed as well because he was on such a crappy team, nobody cared if he hit because nobody else on the Nats could. You could also make the argument that his power numbers weren't as good as they could have been because he played in a pitcher's park.
  7. I agree. That's why I never buy the "I didn't mean to type that" argument.
  8. David Wells and now Esteban Loaiza. Are the Dodgers that desperate for pitching?
  9. In case anyone is wondering: LFC fans pay tribute to Rhys Wow. Bravo to Liverpool. That was a very classy move.
  10. But, but, I swear he's inconsistent.
  11. closer than Monroe, LA That is true...but the rules stipulated that we'd be responsible for our own travel. way to crap on a perfectly good conspiracy theory Yeah, though I don't doubt that location figured into a lot of people's votes. And as much as I wanted it, it probably is best that the person who does ultimately win be from the Chicago area. Well Vance, guess you had better move to Chicago.
  12. I am shocked, SHOCKED I tell you that nobody wanted Koyie Hill.
  13. Before the series I would have said Cubs take 2 of 3 and I would still say that right now.
  14. Since this is the "Other Games" thread, the supposedly rejuvenated Reds (who had won 6 straight coming in) got swept in a double header by the Pirates today.
  15. About midway through the Gene Wojciechowski article on ESPN.com it lists some of the scores from today's key NL Central games including "Milwaukee 5, Chicago 3". EDIT: And then on Phil Rogers' article on ESPN.com he says the Cubs will play 5 games in 4 days. Should be interesting since the Cubs play at Houston on Thursday, September 13 and at home against Cincinnati on Monday, September 17. Idiots. Both them and the people who proofed their columns.
  16. And the Brewers are now under .500.
  17. Wanna bet? They all struck out.
  18. That was hilarious. Come on Demp!!
  19. Well, at least Jacque can't do any worse than Monroe or DeRosa.
