  1. Get a man on and one of Schwarber/Bryant/Rizzo will walk it off. EDIT: I suppose Rizzo won't because they'd just walk him to face the pitcher.
  2. Please Cubs, don't end this in 15. Keep on playing. Trying something different this inning because hoping the Cubs would walk it off wasn't working.
  3. Is Heyward hurt and I missed it? Dealing with a knuckle injury.
  4. So if it gets that far, Jake will pinch hit for Montgomery? Would be funny if we got another pitcher walkoff this year.
  5. Yesterday was pretty much an offday for everyone but Monty. I don't count Pena because they'll send him down whenever they need to.
  6. Time for Warren to pitch like he did for the Cubs last year.
  7. This is a nice fake rally. Please turn it into a real rally.
  8. Cubs allowed a run in the first inning in only 3 of their first 12 games. Since then, they've allowed a run in the first inning in 13 of the last 18 games.
  9. Most annoying part of the Tottenham loss is the "look they choked again" and "they haven't learned from 2016" stories. Did people really think they'd win 13 straight games? Of course they were going to lose one of these because that's how soccer goes sometimes. The only reason this was someone of a title race was the had picked up 50 of 57 points since losing at Man U on Dec 11. And it's also only one game. If they go out and beat Man U next weekend, will they all of a sudden have learned from 2016?
  10. We're going streaking! The Cubs pulled out another nail biter for their third straight win and they're now 7-2 in series this year. The Yankees come in with the second best record in the AL and like to hit a lot of dongs so Hendricks will need to keep the ball down and hit his spots. CUBS are 16-12 when they play a baseball game CUBS are 7-6 at home CUBS are 3-2 when Hendricks starts CUBS are 0-0 against the Yankees CUBS are 4-9 all time against the Yankees in the regular season CUBS are 1-3 on Friday's Go CUBS!!
  11. Somewhere Banedon is angry this game didn't get called a tie after 12 innings.
  12. Because they're really pumped over getting out of that? Calm down, Buzz. He would hate 15 Cubs players if he was a fan of another team.
  13. Sam Holbrook is an idiot. I don't know if both teams were warned before the game but Gausman hit Bogaerts in the second inning today and Holbrook immediately ejected Gausman. Problem is, the pitch was a 77 mph curveball. I get that there have been a few beanballs/attempted beanballs between the two teams and you want to keep things under control but this is some LaRussa logic. If it was a fastball, sure, eject him. But it's a curveball. Think about it for a second before you go and toss a pitcher.
