  1. That inning is on Willson schwarber swung at 3 straight fastballs up and in (and out of the zone) Willy took two fastballs right over the heart of the plate. They both had crap at bats.
  2. Austin Meadows just homered to lead off the ninth to tie the game against St Louis.
  3. Yeah, but they didn’t use Hader, Jeffries or Knebel so they’re set to win by 1 tomorrow even though their starter will only go 5. Chase Anderson had another bad start tonight. We’re in range. Starter went 5 2/3, Hader just got the last out of the 6th and the Brewers are up 1-0.
  4. I feel like it's fair to point out that Rizzo was worth 1.1 fWAR in May. If he's close to that the rest of the way, he'll end up around 4 WAR which is what he put up last year. I know you can't just ignore a month but considering his track record, I think we can bet on Rizzo being more of what he was in May than April the rest of the way. His overall numbers might end up a bit down from normal though just because of how bad he was in April.
  5. So stupid trying to steal. You know there’s a decent shave he walks the next guy anyway. Thanks Mets!
  6. I enjoyed JR claiming that he knew the game was tied after the game when there’s video of him right after the incident saying he thought they were ahead.
  7. He threw 1142 4-seamers last year and not a single one was less than 90 mph. No way he's opting out of 3/$98M at the end of the year, right? I mean, I suppose if he misses a month or less, comes back by July 1 and goes vintage Kershaw the rest of the way he probably opts out. But for him to opt out, he'd have to be pretty confident he's getting way more than $98M guaranteed. I suppose there's always some team crazy enough to offer him 5/$130M or 6/$150. EDIT: Looked at it wrong. He’s only got two years left for $65M. So more likely to opt out since he’d only need to be confident of getting around $100M.
  8. My god JR is an idiot.
  9. I really, really don't like that they can review block/charges for whether or not the guy is moving now. Whether or not he's in the restricted area is fine. That's black or white and a quick review. But whether he's set is a judgement. You can't review that but not other foul calls.
  10. Welp, no point in watching this one. Duke jinxed it so the Cubs will lose.
  11. Milwaukee 15-5 and we are 5-10. Definitely needs some regression but their bullpen is solid. So is ours. Brewers pen ERA is tops in the majors at 2.44, Cubs is 2.71, which is third.
  12. I know I'm preaching to the choir in this thread but playoff hockey is horsefeathering awesome. Games 1 and 2 of the finals have been amazing. All that Vegas guy needed to do with 2ish minutes left was lift the puck and the game is tied. Great save by Holtby.
  13. Should have stuck with the crappy game threads. No need to change what’s working.
  14. Yeah, I thought they’d hit and have a decent enough bullpen. But the defense, base running and rotation were lacking. I have little doubt they think Wainwright is gonna be a key bullpen addition when he comes back at this point. Which I’d gladly welcome. Also it’s annoying the Brewers won again but at least this series dropped the Cardinals even more. 2 of 3 for the Brewers was ideal for me. Drops the Cards down a bit but the Brewers don’t sweep.
  15. Mike Trout is on pace for 14.7 bWAR (Ruth’s 14.1 is the only position player season of more than 13) and 13.2 fWAR (only Ruth got to more than 13).
  16. Man, the Caps missed an open net with about 40 seconds left.
  17. How do the officials miss a clear cross check when the puck is a foot or two away? Aren't they supposed to be looking at where the puck is? Huge missed call also. Instead of the Caps being up 4-3 with a power play, it's 4-4.
  18. Not very often you see both managers out arguing on one play. And why is Hurdle so mad now? He didn’t seem to say anything before they reviewed it and he didn’t ask for a review. So he didn’t appear to care at all until they reviewed the play and upheld it.
  19. Yeah, I feel like if that happened to Contreras, we’d be furious.
  20. I feel like Boston would have made the finals a tighter matchup just because Stevens would have found a way to steal a game or two. I could see Lebron beating Houston. That's definitely true. I guess I'm just assuming the Warriors win Game 7.
