    Yeah, the schedule isn’t surprising at all. If he’s saying that MLB should have multiple prime time games, that’s different. But LA (or SD had they won the division) were always going to get the late slot and once the Yankees won their division, that’s an easy call to put them in prime time east coast.

    And yet the 89 win Padres beat the 101 win Mets and the 111 win Dodgers in series in 2022 because baseball.

    Those were a pair of fun games. Oregon-Penn St was a slow start but the end was worth it.

    So for tomorrow: Reds win and they're in. Both Reds and Mets lose, the Reds are in. Mets need to win and have the Reds lose. If either Det or Cle loses tomorrow (or both) they'll play in the WC round. If they both win, it's Cle-Bos and Det-NYY/Tor.

    The most recent one for me, before this, was when Happ clipped Willy with his backswing and Mikolas threw not one but two pitches at Happ. Just a trash organization.

    Wake up to see ManU just lost 3-1 to Brentford (fans chanted you’re getting sacked in the morning after the third goal) and then Chelsea gets a red card which leads to them blowing a 1-0 lead to lose at home. Thats a good start to the day.

    Boston is in. They could still be WC2 or WC3. If they win one of two against Detroit, they're WC2 and will play either NY or Tor. If they lose both, then it depends on Cleveland. Cleveland owns the tiebreaker over Detroit and Detroit owns the tiebreaker over Boston, so a three way tie (Det wins 2, Cle wins 2) would give Cleveland the division, Detroit WC2 and Bos WC3. If Detroit wins 2 and Cleveland wins 0 or 1, Detroit wins the Central and Boston is WC2. WC3 would come down to what Houston does (1 game back of Det/Cle right now). I can't imagine Boston trying very hard knowing they're going on the road regardless and there doesn't appear to be much difference between NYY/Tor/Cle. So Boston clinching is good for Detroit and bad for Houston.

    Mets lose and Reds win so they’re tied. I believe the Mets lose all 2 and 3 way tiebreakers with the Reds and DBacks which means if the Mets lose and Reds win on Saturday, the Mets are out. EDIT: Reds up 3-1 in the 9th so haven’t won yet.

    Hasn’t been a no hitter this year. Would be the first season without one since 2005.

    That's 9 straight games he's given up at least 1 HR and 20 HRs allowed in his last 12 starts.

    This year is only the third season, along with 1998 and 2001, where 4 players have hit 50 HRs in a season. Suarez hit 49 tonight so we could have 5 guys.

    I tuned in when it was 7-7, saw a bloop single and PCA airmail a throw trying to double the runner off first. Even if it did go out of play, it wouldn’t have mattered since the next batter homered. I’d seen enough at that point.

    Anytime you can take your shirt off celebrating a goal in the 3rd round of the Carabao Cup against the team in 19th place in the EFL Championship when you're already on a yellow card, you just have to do it. Hugo Ekitike is your sports idiot of the week. I mean, it's a stupid rule, but it's a rule and has been for a while now.

    Dodgers lost to the DBacks so they're only 1.5 up on SD in the division.

    I guess the exception would be if SD manages to win the division and the Cubs play in LA. That’s a 100% lock to be the late game each day.

    Except the Dodgers are going to be at home too. So if the Dodgers are 7 pm Pacific Time, I would think the Cubs in SD would be either 1 pm or 4 pm games.

    I’m not saying I’m going to actively avoid the Cubs playoff games, but if MLB schedules them at times where I have other activities that prevent me from watching, I won’t complain.

    So Cade is dead? There’s no way the plan was to have him throw 29 pitches.
