  1. Panama could still get there if the come back but they’d have to win 3-1 to pass us on GD. Looking like a very good night for us. Mexico and Canada tie as fo Costa Rica and Honduras. Panama losing with 20 minutes left so as long as they don’t win, we pick up 2 points on everyone close to us.
  2. Who else besides Messi can do what Salah did on this goal? The speed, control and shiftiness is nuts. What he did to Bernardo Silva looked live like it was an accident but then you see the slomo replay and realize he knew exactly what he was doing.
  3. I’m guessing the answer is no but can anyone justify or make sense of this decision. UC Davis-Idaho over the weekend. UCD up 27-20, 4 minutes left and Idaho has a 4th and 4 from the UCD 17. Coach decides to kick a FG. Idaho had gained nearly 500 yards, averaged almost 7 yards per play in the game and the QB was 22-35 for 255 yards.
  4. Unfortunately we all know the wealthy never do.

  6. 2019 had it also. I wonder if the last few years are just a blip or if it will be the new normal. In the last four full seasons, there have been 12 100+ win teams (13 if Tampa gets one more win this year) and 11 100+ loss teams. In the decade prior (so 2007 through 2016), there were 5 100+ win teams and 11 100+ loss teams. The 2016 Cubs were the first team with 103+ wins since the 2009 Yankees and the last team with more than 103 wins was the 04 Cards. We've had 8 teams with 103+ wins in the last four full seasons. It seems like after the Cubs and Astros bottomed out and won the WS a few years later, teams are more okay with just saying eff it for a couple years and not even pretending to try to win games. Baltimore lost 108+ the last three full seasons. Detroit went 98, 98, 114 and had the winning percentage of a 98 loss team last year. Pittsburgh went 93, 111 (on pace), 100 (2 games left). I guess we'll have to wait and see for a couple years to see if it continues to know for sure.
  7. Could be some crazy travel for the AL WC teams if there’s a three way tie. The schedule would be Team A at Team B on Monday and then the winner hosts Team C on Tuesday. Boston holds the tiebreakers and would get to pick their spot first. I assume they’ll pick C since they’d only have to win 1 game. Seattle goes next and would pick B so they get 2 home games if they win the first. So Toronto could play in Toronto on Sunday, in Seattle on Monday, in Toronto on Tuesday, in New York on Wednesday and in Tampa on Thursday. Boston could play in Washington on Sunday, Seattle on Tuesday, New York on Wednesday and Tampa on Thursday. And they can’t leave for the tiebreaker game on Tuesday until after Monday’s game ends. Seattle wouldn’t be as bad but they’d still have to play in Seattle on Monday and Tuesday before flying to New York for a game Wednesday. Of course this will probably all be moot since one team will probably win outright to ruin the fun.
  8. OM and the over. Not sure about OM winning but definitely take the over. Still not gonna pick OM to win but generally when Bama loses in Tuscaloosa during the Saban era it’s because the best player on the field is playing for the visitors (Manziel and Burrow) and I think Corral is certainly the best player on either team at the moment, so we’ll see Guessing he meant Ole Miss plus the points (14.5 or so).
  9. Cardinals postseason will last a grand total of 1 game should the play the LAD White Sox will get 1 home game and be done Brewers will be done in the NLCS at the latest You and I both know very well that the Cardinals are somehow going to end up winning the WS. That franchise is just blessed that way. At the very least they’re going to touch up Scherzer or Buehler for 5 runs in 5 innings as they win the WC game.
  10. Goldy was the only one on the field who actually knew what was going on there.
  11. Eh, going to suck for a couple years. Might as well let Ross fumble around the dugout and continue to butcher pitching decisions if that's the case.
  12. He really should have said something about “stomping out wealth inequality” in that post.
  13. The Reds is particularly bad because if they’d just won series against crappy teams they’d be right there. Not even sweeping, just 2 of 3. Lost 2 of 3 to Marlins, Cubs, Tigers and Pirates. Plus they lost 2 of 3 twice to St Louis.
  14. Fairly straightforward
  15. 2.76 ERA his last 8 starts with St Louis. Of course, he’s also got a 5.44 FIP in that span.
  16. Certainly didn’t look like it was going to be close when Bama was up 21-3 with the ball and had scored on all three possessions.
  17. White Sox plunked Ohtani last night in retaliation for HBP’s earlier in the series. TLR gonna TLR.
  18. And lost those 3 games by 4, 7 and 9 runs Minor technicality but the White Sox game was only 6-0. Saw that the Cubs are the first team ever to have two games in a season where they had a 7+ run lead but lost by 8+ runs.
  19. Reds are butchering this. Lost 2 of 3 to Miami, Detroit and Chicago in the past couple weeks, lost at least 2 of 3 to Pittsburgh this week and lost 2 of 3 to the Cards twice. They still have 7 more against Pitt, 4 against Wash and 2 against CWS when they might be resting guys the last week.
  20. It's not exactly the group of death is it? Maybe they'll somehow finish second and draw Bayern in the round of 16 . . . It’s not but Atalanta is solid and Villarreal won the Europa last year. I don’t think they’ll finish third but losing this eliminates some margin for error. It was a harder group but that’s what happened last year. They won in Paris and hammered Leipzig but then lost on the road to a random Turkish team. Had they won that game they would have topped the group. They didn’t and finished third. But finishing second as you said would be bad also because of who you’re likely to draw in the next round.
  21. ManU will probably still advance but that's a result they could look back on in three months with regret if they get sent to the Europa League by a point or two.
  22. Clay Helton fired by USC.
  23. I saw the same video that continued on for a bit and whoever did the graphics obviously had no faith the play was going to work because the graphics incorrectly showed Florida State was 1-1 and Jacksonville 0-2 after the TD.
