    NFL Week 9

Just go to a private track and pay some money to drive there. My father in law did that a couple years ago in Vegas. Probably a bit safer than driving 150 on city streets.
  2. Who really deserves to be ahead of them though? Mich St has a better win (Michigan) and no losses but Bama has the next 2-3 best wins and the one common game (Miami), Bama looked much better. MSU also struggled to beat Nebraska and Indiana. Oregon has a better win (@OSU) but a much worse loss. They also struggled against UCLA and Cal. OSU has a decent resume. Better loss (Oregon) and their best couple wins are pretty similar to Bama. But if you're going to have Oregon in front of OSU, Bama has to be in front of OSU also. Cincy has the best win and no loss but it's a big drop in win quality after Notre Dame. Michigan has a better loss and an equivalent best win but Bama has better wins after. Oklahoma struggled to beat Kansas which is damning enough. But if you want more, their best win is KSt or Texas. Wake hasn't beaten anyone. Oklahoma St. has an equivalent best win but a worse loss. Here's the 4 times a non-conference champ got in. 2020 Pac-12 and Big 12 had 2 losses 2018 Notre Dame (12-0) over 1-loss Big 10 and 3 loss Pac-12 2017 Pac-12 and Big 10 had 2 losses 2016 Big 12 and Big 10 had 2 losses So if we end up with 13-0 Georgia, 12-1 Oregon, 13-0 Oklahoma (maybe 12-1 if they win the Big 12), 13-0 Cincy and a 13-0/12-1 Big 10 champ, then an 11-2 Bama isn't getting in. They like rewarding conference champs. For 11-2 Bama to get in, you're going to need some upsets or for a couple of those teams to lose conference title games to teams that have 2+ losses.
  3. I’m not as worried about Bama because their situation will sort itself out on the field. Either they win out and the SEC gets 2 teams, which happens whether Bama is ranked 2 or 6 right now, or they lose and they’re out barring something weird happening like them losing to Georgia by 3 and chaos happening elsewhere. But I’m not going to begrudge someone not thinking Bama should be lower.
  4. Georgia Alabama Michigan St Oregon Ohio St Cincinnati Committee’s top 6. I see they’re already doing whatever they can to keep Cincinnati out. I was happy to see Oklahoma at 8 because they don’t belong anywhere near the top 4 right now.
  5. I saw the first instance of "Jets" and skipped the rest.
  6. Greinke’s been hurt. Missed two starts in Sept and hasn’t pitched much in the playoffs. Went 4 innings Aug 29 Went 5 innings Sept 14 Went 4 innings Sept 19 Went 2 1/3 innings Oct 3 Went 1 inning Oct 10 Went 1 1/3 innings Oct 19 Went 4 innings Oct 30
  7. In case you wanted another reason to like Juan Soto. [tweet] [/tweet] [tweet] [/tweet]
  8. At least this one had runs. Game 3 was over the 2 hour mark, it was 1-0 and they weren’t even through 5.
  9. Hell of a double bad beat in Clemson-FSU with the final play flipping both the O/U and the spread.
  10. I dislike both teams for costing me over 51.
  11. Hopefully more shooting practice because he had another horrid miss today.
  12. For somebody who is paid to write, he writes terribly. It was the first ever home run in the first plate appearance of the World Series, which is definitely not what he wrote.
  13. Manfred sucks, example # we lost count a long time ago. [tweet] [/tweet] [tweet] [/tweet] [tweet] [/tweet] [tweet] [/tweet]
  14. So you lose interest before the season starts because Michigan loses to OSU every year? Sorry, couldn’t resist.
  15. Justin Turner is a silver slugger award finalist at 2B. Justin Turner didn’t play a single game at 2B this year and has played 1 total game at 2B in the last 6 seasons. I would say they meant Trea Turner and someone made a mistake but Trea is on the list as a SS.
  16. [tweet] [/tweet] Nightengale is so dumb.
  17. If Ole wasn’t a club legend, he wouldn’t probably wouldn’t have gotten the job in the first place. But if he did get the job and wasn’t a club legend, he would have been fired a while ago.
  18. But why did the starter get injured during the series? It could be that it was going to happen no matter what, but it could have also been a result of pitching on short rest and/or in relief. I'm not going to absolve the Dodgers of all blame and just chalk everything up to bad luck. We'll never know for sure but I feel like it's unlikely that Scherzer throwing 13 pitches on two days rest destroyed his arm. And even if Scherzer goes down anyway, if Kershaw doesn't get hurt, they're probably not in this situation. They wouldn't have had to start Buehler on short rest in Game 4 of the NLDS and (assuming they win that game), they don't have to do a bullpen game in Game 5 making it less likely they need Scherzer out of the pen in Game 5. Then you've got a rested Scherzer on normal rest in Game 1 of the NLCS, your Game 4 NLDS starter on normal rest in Game 2, etc. So even if you ignore May and Bauer, Kershaw getting hurt right before the playoffs played a huge role in this.
  19. Running didn’t work well either. The pass Illinois threw in the 6th OT looked like the QB thought there was a second end zone behind the end zone. That thing was at least 5 feet over the WRs head. EDIT: Worked in the 8th OT. Yeah the thing is Illinois has ~350 rushing yards today and 30 passing yards. and they made 4 straight passing attempts in consecutive OTs Illinois now with another chance to win this Didn’t realize the stats disparity. I didn’t start watching until late 4th quarter.
  20. Running didn’t work well either. The pass Illinois threw in the 6th OT looked like the QB thought there was a second end zone behind the end zone. That thing was at least 5 feet over the WRs head. EDIT: Worked in the 8th OT.
  21. This is now I think. I thought they showed that 5 or 6 other games had gone 7 OT and none had gone 8.
  22. I didn’t realize before this that they just do 2 point conversions starting in the 3rd OT.
  23. Oklahoma reminds me of the Florida State team the year after they won the title. FSU went undefeated but was seeded behind a couple 1 loss teams and then Oregon just slaughtered them in the playoff. If feel like that’s their destiny this year. They’ll go undefeated, be seeded 2nd or 3rd (at least behind whoever wins the SEC, whether that’s a 1 loss Bama or undefeated Georgia) and just get blasted in the semis.
  24. That’s what happens when you have one starter get hurt literally right before the playoffs and a second starter get hurt during a series. Not to mention Dustin May blew his arm out in May and Trevor Bauer can’t have sex without choking a woman unconscious.
  25. Scherzer out for Game 6. Will be interesting to see what LA does. Could start Buehler on short rest in Game 6. But then you either have to go Urias in Game 7 on short rest or a pen game then anyway. I can't imagine one extra day of rest will make Scherzer's arm feel better all of a sudden.
