  1. Daytona has cut into their deficit and now are down 8-4 in the middle of the 6th.
  2. Raisin was a band geek, not a math nerd. Whoops, looked at the wrong line when I was adding it up in my head but looked at the right line while posting the IP. I was both a band geek and a math nerd in HS.
  3. Wait, what? I thought he signed like 2 months ago. He failed his physical and his contract was voided.
  4. Bah, 2 straight bad starts after I break down his hot May. Coincidence? I think not. Henceforth, I shall no longer compliment a Cub prospect...
  5. Frankly, it's disappointing that by now Grant isn't starting over Carlos Perez. He's had a few weeks to build up his arm strength, at this point, I don't think that's it. From what I've heard, his slider isn't the same as it was pre-surgery and until that returns, I don't think his future as a reliever is that bright, let alone as a starter. Mark Pawelek is probably relieving because he's barely going through 1-2 innings as a starter because of his control problems.
  6. Yeah, it's Renshaw's professional debut. And it was a good one, at that!
  7. I agree. CCR should be ranked higher and Radiohead lower. When I first read the rankings, I thought they were the other way (CCR as a 3, Radiohead as the 14). That said, I voted for Radiohead, but it was a tough decision.
  8. Who let the Packer fan in here?
  9. Probable Starters: Iowa: RHP Randy Wells (2-1, 4.91 ERA, 14.2 IP, 13/2, 1.30 WHIP) vs. RHP Runelvys Hernandez (4-5, 4.61 ERA) Daytona: RHP Mark Holliman (6-4, 3.16 ERA, 91 IP, 85/38, 1.12 WHIP) Peoria: RHP Mitch Atkins (7-2, 2.45 ERA, 88 IP, 76/35, 1.20 WHIP) @ RHP Oswaldo Sosa (6-6, 2.61 ERA) Boise: RHP Billy Muldowney (0-1, 1.84 ERA, 14.2 IP, 16/2, 1.09 WHIP) Mesa: RHP Robert Hernandez (0-0, 3.86 ERA, 7 IP, 1/2, 1.71 WHIP)
  10. Boise loses on a 2-run single by Blake Sharpe off Cooper's glove and into RF. :( Not sure why Maestri started the 9th rather than the closer.
  11. Controversy in Yakima: Canzler throws the ball to 2nd for a grounder, Baez catches it for the force at 2nd but is ruled off the bag and the runner is safe (Boise players and manager disagreed with the call). Bases are loaded with none out, closer Michael Cooper is coming in.
  12. Maestri struggling to close it out in the bottom of the 9th. First, a leadoff single and then a HBP on a guy who was trying to sac bunt. 2 on, none out. Cooper the closer loosening up in the pen for Boise.
  13. Are you sure it was Pawelek? He's sceduled to start tomorrow, and MiLB has Clipp getting the final out. This is the second time MiLB.com has screwed up a Pawelek out. Maestri gives up a run in the bottom of the 8th. To the 9th we go, Boise leads it 5-4.
  14. Peoria loses 4-3 in 13 on a single, walk and an RBI single off Koerber. :(
  15. Maestri gets out of the jam with a great play by second baseman Matulia for a 4-3 DP. Boise still leads 5-3 after 7. Pawelek's final line: 0.2 IP, 0 H, 1 ER, 1/2, 2 HBP. Mark's control problems have helped cause his rough season. :(
  16. Are you sure it was Pawelek? He's sceduled to start tomorrow, and MiLB has Clipp getting the final out. Yup, it's Mark. Pawelek gets a K and then runs into some difficulties in the 7th with 2 walks and a HBP. And now an RBI HBP makes tt 5-3. Pawelek's night is over, as of now: 0.2 IP, 1 ER, 0 H, 1/2, 2 HBP, all 3 baserunners are his responsibility. Alex Maestri coming in.
  17. Mercedes is now 3/4 with 2 doubles. Matulia follows Mercedes' 2nd double with an RBI triple (he's 3/4 too) to make it 4-2. Baez follows with an RBI single to make it 5-2. Beloit was threatening with 2 on and 1 out in the bottom of the 11th against Peoria, but Koerber got out of it. Peoria can't get anything in the top of the 12th, it's still 3-3 in the bottom of the 12th.
  18. Pina out, Pawelek in. Pina: 5.2 IP, 2 ER, 6 H, 2/1, the runner at first is his responsibility. Pawelek comes in and gets a comebacker on the first pitch to get out of it. Boise up 3-2 after 6.
  19. Sammy Baez with a sac fly to make it 3-1 in the 6th. Peoria gets nothing in the top of the 10th, still tied at 3.
  20. And now Pawelek sits down. They're just messing with me now. EDIT: We now have more posts in this thread than in the Cubs game thread.
  21. Huh, Pawelek is loosening in the pen. Tomorrow is his scheduled day.
  22. Peoria scores 1 in the ttop of the 9th to tie it all up at 3! Ryne Malone walked, Mark Reed grounded into a FC and took over at first base, Kyle Reynolds singled and Reed went to third. Reed then scored on an Alberto Garcia sac fly. To the 10th we go in Beloit...
  23. Peoria still down 3-2 going into the 9th. Boise up 2-1 going into the bottom of the 4th.
  24. My PieCharts are better. That umpire's strike zone is strange.
  25. In the 3rd, Lansford doubles and Tyler Colvin follows with a line RBI single to CF to make it 1-0. Colvin walked his first time up today, and his BA is over the Mendoza line. Canzler follows with a GIDP. :( Now Alfred Joseph singles. DJ Lewis flies out to the warning track in CF to end the inning. Midway through 3, it's 1-0 Boise.
