    They think everyone wants to see that crap. I'm shocked that the folks in the Midwest are actually getting the Cubs-Cards. I'm in the midwest and I'm getting Red Sox/NYY crap. Ridiculous. Wow...sad. We always get one of the Cali teams, Padres, Angels, Dodgers, Giants or A's (and once in a rare while, a Cubs game...like the Cubs-Yanks in 03 where Hee Seop got knoced out).

    Ehh, I have faith in Wilken given his track record. Can't see the harm in being higher in such a loaded draft.

    He doesn't throw as hard as John. But I think he'll have a similar career (some success from time to time) to John, with quite a few chances at the big league level.

    The one in the mid-80s was a 12-6 curve and the one in the low 80s was probably his change. Why did Homer only go 4.2 IP? It's good to see Evan back in the lineup and healthy. Gotta root for the local kids. :)

    I think it was explained quite well already -- ARod was the superior player at that position. Pretty simple, actually. If you think the hatred for aRod is bad now, imagine if he had taken Jeter's position. If I'm the Yankees or a Yankee fan, I don't care if people hate one of my players. I only care for what makes my team better, and Rodriguez playing SS is that.

    I didn't think you'd take 8 million solo HR's literally. I didn't. I also know better than to think that Corey has a higher rate of solo HR's than most.

    Wow, I was actually kind of hoping that the Cubs would get Pennington when Pawelek looked too expensive. I guess it's a good thing we chose otherwise. I wanted Pawelek or Hochevar. In hindsight, Garza woulda been a nice pick.

Jose Ceda: 4 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 4 BB, 6 K 17-year old Robert Hernandez: 2 IP, 0 R, 3 H Cliff Andersen: 0 for 2, 2 groundouts, BB Huh, 2005 A's first round pick Cliff Pennington, who has struggled mightily at high-A Stockton (.203/.302/.277) is playing for the AZL A's and is 1 for 2 today and batting .364 in 11 AZL ABs.

    Mesa adds another in the top of the 5th and lead it 2-0. They had a chance at more, but with runners at corners, a double steal goes awry and Cesar Valentin is caught trying to steal home.

    So, triple or not? MiLB.com changed his triple to a single, apparently. :( Wow, MiLB.com really screwed up...at the time, they called what was an IF single a triple.

    The final lines on the combined no-hitter against Peoria: Michael Wlodarczyk: 8 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 3 BB, 7 K Celso Rondon: 1 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 0 BB, 3 K (struck out the side in the 9th) It's the second time this season that a Cubs minor league team was no-hit. Of course, Mesa still won 1-0 in the game they were no-hit in.

Randy Wells: 4 IP, 5 ER, 7 H, 5 BB, 3 K. Manager Mike Quade was ejected in the 6th inning. West Tenn lost 5-2. Federico Baez: 5.1 IP, 5 R, 4 ER, 6 H, 4 BB, 0 K, 2 HR. Aron Weston: 1 for 4 with a solo HR and 2 strikeouts. Mesa is up 1-0. Sounds like Jose Ceda has thrown a lot of pitches: 4 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 4 BB, 6 K. Rundle has the night off. Andersen: 0 for 1, BB.
