  1. That seems pretty ridiculous. These are the reasons Morrissey defends Dusty? That's just shifting blame - Dusty has his faults and shouldn't be here next season. Hendry has his faults and there is a vocal contingent who want Hendry fired too.
  2. High socks are pimp. From OnDeckBaseball.com:
  3. Don't let it get to your head, UMF. :P
  4. Boise lost 6-1. The opposing pitcher struck out 9 Hawks and threw a complete game.
  5. Are you serious!? I love Cub/Packer fans!! Booo!
  6. The Cubs should do this. Try a bunch of different leagues and eventually, they'd make the playoffs.
  7. Haha.
  8. Dang, broken leg. Done for the year.
  9. Round Rock goes down in order, Nashville wins, Iowa is eliminated and Felix's playoff streak ends. :( Get used to it, Felix. Time to call him up.
  10. We go to the 9th and it doesn't look good for Iowa: Nashville is up 4-2 on Round Rock.
  11. Heh, last year I got to see Weaver, Wood and Kendrick. This year, Adenhart.
  12. Yeah, the game was called in the 8th. Peoria won 4-2. If I lived anywhere nearby, I'd check out the Chiefs. :) For now, I stick to Nick Adenhart and the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes.
  13. Stop antagonizing them, it will just make it worse around here  Ok now what is up with Lee Corso saying SC wont win a SEC title under Spurrier? This is absurd to be so sure that it wont happen. Florida wasnt the powerhouse they were until he got there and installed that offense. He can coach, recruit and stay out of trouble. Hell even Lou Holtz had a really good season and Spurrier is twice the coach he is. Speaking of Lou Holtz he is a complete ass on television. He constantly belittles Mark May and dribbles all over himself when he talks. Mark May needs to pile drive that POS into the newsdesk. Trev Alberts was in self love with himself but he at least made me laugh. I think its fair to say that our history is not the envy of college football. But how anyone can definitively say that Spurrier can't win the conference at USC is ridiculous. He's already recruiting well and has assembled a top notch coaching staff. He just donated $250,000 to our athletic department and he is pushing for the donations to improve our facilities. As for Corso in general, he's a pot-stirrer. That's it. If the guy really knew what he was talking about he might still be coaching. Lou Holtz is thoroughly unwatchable, just like our team under his direction in his last two seasons. Frankly, I was stunned when Corso said that. I thought Holtz was the only person who'd say idiotic stuff.
  14. Nashville winning 3-2 in the bottom of the 6th and they're threatening with 2 on and 1 out. :(
  15. There was an article about how Vince Coleman(at least I'm pretty sure it was Coleman) came to work with Iowa and how he had really turned around his basestealing since. Bob Dernier Yeah, it was Dernier.
  16. Sweet...that explains why he wasn't in West Tenn's lineup.
  17. Alfonso made no attempt to get out of the way and should not have been awarded first. Fred, do you remember back in the day when Drysdale was going for the consecutive scoreless inning record he had the bases loaded, hit a batter, the ump called it a ball because the batter made no attempt to move, then Drysdale got him out to end the inning and keep the streak alive? By the way, if the batter is in the strike zone when hit, the ump is supposed to call a strike. Like an ump would call that in this day and age. :|
  18. Randy Wells is starting for Iowa. Iowa jumps ahead 1-0 in the first thanks to a Pie triple and an EPatt sac fly. Nashville plays at 6 pm CT. Bobby Brownlie is starting for West Tenn. They're up 1-0 in the third inning.
  19. No, they'll female the playoffs. Hey now, I think I deserve kudos for only one typo when I did that before 8 am on a three-day weekend! Daytona won game one of their doubleheader as Mark Holliman continued the trend of pitchers finishing strong in the minors: 6.1 IP, 1 ER, 6 H, 2 BB, 3 K. Ryan Harvey went 1 for 3 with a BB and a K. Jeremy Williams hit his second HR of the season. Game 2 - Daytona's last game of the season - is about to get started.

  21. Standings: PCL American North Nashville 75-67 .528 - --- Magic Number: 1 Iowa 74-68 .521 1.0 --- 2 games remaining West Tenn, Daytona and Mesa won't male the playoffs. Peoria and Boise already have.
  22. Probable Starters Iowa: TBD @ RHP Bobby Keppel (6-6, 5.44 ERA) West Tenn: TBD vs. RHP Eddy Valdez (7-9 3.93 ERA) Daytona (game 1): RHP Justin Berg (7-7, 4.30 ERA) Daytona (game 2): RHP Mark Holliman (7-11, 4.51 ERA) Peoria: RHP Jesse Estrada (6-1, 3.34 ERA) @ LHP Ryan Mullins (5-7, 3.77 ERA) Boise: RHP Billy Muldowney (1-2, 2.33 ERA) vs. RHP Aneury Rodriguez (3-4, 4.57 ERA) Berg (game 1): 113 IP, 82 K/52 BB Holliman (game 2): 137.2 IP, 118/56 Estrada: 89 IP, 57/27 Muldowney: 38.2 IP, 39/11 I'd guess RHP Hugo Castellanos (0-1, 1.88 ERA) will pitch for the Jaxx today.
