What I got from AZ Phil was that Alfonso Soriano's defense in CF is going to make us miss Juan Pierre. Yeesh. And Cliff Floyd's probably should be DHing in the AL. He would have to be pretty bad to make up for the major increase in offensive production. The Cliff Floyd thing really is a concern though. No doubt, his bat will make more than make up for it. But his D is going to be brutal.
Seriously. And I know of two Chiefs fans on this board, one of them should step up. TT took the Chiefs, and I've volunteered to double up and take the Bills...all we need is someone to take Cinci. I'll do it if Rocket doesn't go for it.

If you remember, it seemed like the Cubs' choice was down to Pawelek or Luke Hochevar...the Cubs might have had a better chance at signing Hochevar than the Dodgers.
Better than last time out (and we felt that was a good game), according to Bruce. The defense really failed him. Bruce opined that Prior is about 3 weeks away from being big league-ready. 3 IP, 0 ER, 3 R, 2 H, 3 K, 2 BB, 2 WP, 60 pitches (37 strikes)
Oh, I forgot about Jacobson. Taylor King is definitely a 3 as you said, he's not going to guard Love. Howland is pretty high on the Wear twins - it'll be interesting to see if they can pack a little meat on their soon-to-be 7-foot frames.
How was the velocity on his pitches? There are no radar readings readily available here. We'll have to get the readings later, but he looked appreciably better this time out. His defense let him down, ran up his pitch count and probably cost him an inning of work. How far away would you guess he is from pitching in the rotation? 2-3 weeks to a month. Ahh, that's not too bad considering he's around 60 pitches right now.

Helton and Holliday surely did help prior right there.... i wonder how many pitches we will go today? Gameday's pitch counts are off. They are assuming all contact is made on the first pitch, all strikeouts are happening on 3 pitches and walks on 4 pitches.
