  1. Tajuan Porter is ridiculous.
  2. OMG, Porter is on FIRE. Oregon up 13 now. :D
  3. Woo, Purdue was even up for a second there. But Wisconsin has tied UNLV. :(
  4. Porter is on fire.
  5. Tajuan Porter heating it up behind the arc - Oregon and SC have to win for the Pac-10. Wow, Purdue has tied it back up! (And Wisc is starting to chip away. :()
  6. It's college baseball. What did you expect?
  7. Sweet, the game is on TV in Southern California - Fox Sports West and AM 710.
  8. Most teams have big men at the end of the bench who don't play much. For us, its Sweets and Allen. Brown, Thomas, and Wallace are getting the most PT. I don't see why Thomas, Wallace, other rookie (please god, let us get Horford), and Deng/Nocioni (when the Bulls decide to go small) couldn't keep PJ on the bench for a majority of the game. If he gives you 10 minutes a game over the course of the season for near league minimum and he offers great tutelage for the two youngsters, he'd be very valuable. This is contingent on the Bulls drafting a ready to play young big man, though. And I do believe that is the route they will go (McRoberts, Hansbrough, Horford if he slips), etc. Horford, plz.
  9. Come on Purdue. :(
  10. Freaking UCLA down the stretch yesterday. Thank goodness they held on. Poor WSU yesterday too. :( Oh, and go Purdue!
  11. My cousin saw Blasko throwing off the mound (no reports other than that he was throwing). Pawelek told him he was 95% sure he was headed to Peoria (and he got Mark's auto, then called me and asked if Mark was any good because he had his auto). I'll get more news from him in a bit - he called me and asked who to look for in the minor league camp so I told him.
  12. Hopefully you got the NC right again. :)
  13. DC will play: I won't be around much tomorrow so...GO UCLA!! :D
  14. Adrian Griffin is the bane of my existance (now that Neifi isn't trying to bunt with 2 outs in the 9th inning of a game the Cubs are losing). Scott Skiles needs to think about putting in better personnel at the end of games.
  15. Wow, kinda surprised with the UCLA love - esp. against teams with athletic frontlines like Florida and Georgetown.
  16. I still expect he'll be in Peoria.
  17. Easy now, IU is not crappy. Also, Illinois has a great chance to lose to Kansas in the sweet sixteen. They have a better chance to lose to Virginia Tech in the first round though or SIU in the second. IU lost to Illinois therefore they are crappy. UCLA is crappy because they lost to Cal. :D sadly, I didn't even know there were games here until I saw the goodyear blimp (why send a blimp to an indoor event?). Anyway, I can get tickets if you want 'em Raisin (or anyone else) - six hours of driving and $61 a ticket. I can't make it, sadly (heck, UCLA played 2 hours away in San Diego last year and I couldn't go). Thanks for the offer. And screw Cal. :P
  18. For those concerned about your brackets, here's a blurb from Brian Dohn in today's Daily News:
  19. I've never heard that. It used to be that the pitcher's were ahead of the hitters (in general) during ST. It evens up in the middle and latter parts of ST. The Cactus League definitely favors hitters.
  20. I don't think they can beat Florida's athletic bigs, but I do have them in the Elite 8. Great shooting team that can put points up in a hurry, Brooks is a fantastic player and they're getting hot at the right time. They're finally playing defense too. I have Florida over the Ducks in that region.
  21. Hey now, UCLA is not crappy.
  22. Was Wade Miller able to maintain his velocity beyond the 1st two innings? He was making minor league rehab starts last year where he would touch 87-89 and a maybe flirt with 90 once or twice and by the 3rd end up around 84-85. It appeared he was. This also falls under the category of "all things being equal." In fact, even if Miller's velocity does drop during games, the Cubs will figure that he'll "know how to pitch" without it. I'm not saying that's right or wrong; it's just what they'll figure. And don't discount the minor-league option that Guzman has. I understand all this, but don't you think it would be more wise to give Guzman a chance with the big boys first, before just burning that last option? If they send him down right off, then the next time they bring him up it's for good or gone. I also think Prior has a place in this argument. Even if Miller were traded, Mark might be able to progress enough to be ready after maybe 3 Guzman starts. That would buy a little breathing room to consider a Miller trade in my mind. I've been gone for a while here on the off-day, so unless somebody has mentioned this, you can option a guy as many times as you want during the year. He is not "out of options" until next year.
  23. I honestly doubt it affects him playing and playing to his ability. He's starting tomorrow and UCLA has completely downplayed it (which they didn't done with injuries when a player ended up missing a game). As I understand it, the main concern would come from re-aggravating the injury.
  24. HAHAHAHAHAHA!
