  1. Uh oh, Butler: [tweet] [/tweet]
  2. Rucker is replacing Oscar de la Cruz, who went on the Myrtle Beach DL. I know. Preston Morrison went on Tennessee's DL too. So, someone's gotta take his place. I posted somewhere about the options yesterday. In the end, I figured it was probably Kellogg. With Robinson moving up to MB. Think slight chance of just moving Robinson straight to Tennessee too. I don't think anyone at MB deserves a promotion (too early for Alzolay, who is the closest to being ready). I assume they'll just plug in Pugliese in the Tennessee rotation.
  3. What little I've followed has seemed suspicious how much the Cubs were tied specifically to that player that it seemed to be an obvious plant and likely misdirection on somebody's part. The Cubs love Gray and Appel, they're just glad they get to pick one at #2. On the other hand, their love for Almora and Benintendi/Happ before those drafts was well known and accurate.

  5. Scout.com mock: http://www.scout.com/mlb/scouting/story/1782760-2017-mlb-draft-mock-2-0?s=321 Besides 27 and 30, I'm including the Blue Jays' pick at 22 because it ties to the Cubs.
  6. Victor Caratini was the minor league player of the month for May and Duncan Robinson the pitcher of the month.
  7. I think some of the lure with Gray is that he hasn't been that good and has been injured so he should come cheaper (should obviously be the key word) while still maintaining a high ceiling.

  9. Not knowing whether a guy had been announced or not earlier in the game? It's the attention to detail I love best about these ESPN broadcasts.
  10. If Davis is unavailable, I'd prefer sending CEJ back out there to start the 9th.
  11. Kinda wish Rizzo wasn't a dumb ass on the base paths now.
  12. Matheny whining about umps. Rinse and repeat.
  13. Man, Molina's hissy fit in front of home plate didn't allow a throw on the SB.
  14. He did something similar against San Diego on Monday.
  15. Obviously it can change but I did not expect Sierra to have a chance at Eugene considering how raw he is. Assad is pretty intriguing.
  16. I told you Hatch wasn't being rushed to high-A! Yeah, I covfefied the hell out of that one. Yeah, you can't always just look at ERA, especially in the minors. His peripherals looked good and his ERA was bogged down by 1 or 2 rough outings so I thought he might rebound. Didn't see the 13 K outing coming.
