Without looking at stats to back me up, I feel like Kershaw gets pushed longer than most starters in the playoffs because of how shitty his bullpen is (besides Kenley) and that is partially to blame for his memorable playoff meltdowns.

I'm kinda thinking that the plan once everyone is back would be Schwarber-Happ-Heyward. Almora and Jay cycle in against good matchups. Yeah, I think I'd rather have Heyward in CF than Happ, but Happ has proven to be reliable and solid-average in his short time in CF. We'll see how it all shakes out once everyone is healthy and Schwarber returns. J. Jay is a great weapon to bring off the bench as a PH. I didn't think much of it when we signed him, but that was a great pickup. Agreed that the optimal defensive alignment is Heyward in center and not Happ.

That doesn't do it justice. Can't wait for robot umps.

Hopefully the silly demotion is over. I doubt he's learning too much at AAA and the big league offense could use the help.

I was just about to ask if his advanced stats suggested he was actually pitching well and not continuing to get lucky because he's only allowed 1 ER in his past 12 innings. But now he will give up a 3 run inning and it will be your fault (and a little mine) His FIP is like 4.2, which is solid. But that's only because he hasn't been giving up homers. And that's a complete aberration since everyone gives up homers now. And he's given up a ton of long flys to the wall. Basically, he's pitched pretty well, even if a little worse than his results indicate. But it's not likely to continue, because he actually sucks. He's also partially protected by only going about 60 pitches/twice through the order.

For as smart as our FO is, it seems like they really are not smart at using the 10-day DL. This is the 4th time now they should've used it off the top of my head. Zobrist, Russell, Heyward and now Bryant. I know Zobrist/Heyward are on it now but they should've gone on sooner. And yeah, in regards to KB I'd rather him get nearly 2 weeks off (skip the ASB) and be really rested/healthy rather than get this last week out of him at not 100%. Don't see what the problem is with the way they treated Heyward. And TT makes a valid point that Russell's injury makes it tough to disable. But the way they acted with Zobrist was silly.

I can't find it now but I saw one of those broadcasts with crowd noise and no commentary and Montero said, "What a horsefeathering game" there.

My goodness, the Dustin Fowler injury. And he didn't even get his first major league at bat before the injury.
