  5. In high school, my friend got hit in the nuts by the throw while sliding into home.
  6. Don't complain about rainouts again or it'll be a 20-spot, Brewers.
  7. Wish you could tag posters in a specific post. Ahh well, TT will surely find this. Gleyber got promoted to AAA.
  8. He didn't come out for the 7th so that's his final line. Apparently before that HR, Alzolay had gone 9 consecutive innings without a hit so he's given up 1 hit in his last 12.
  9. I believe if Zobrist is leading off, they won't be batting the pitcher 8th.
  10. So that's what Cubs Twitter was mocking Tom Hardicourt about. I wouldn't know, he blocked me for mocking his since-deleted tweet saying Theo Epstein was committing career suicide by going to the Cubs.
  11. I'd love to get a well-regarded upper minor league pitching prospect too but I just don't see the Cubs matching up for that type of trade when they're World Series contenders.
  12. At least none of their players died. Also, in the 3-1 loss, Matt Carpenter was thrown out at third base to lead off the 9th while trying to stretch a double into a triple. It was incredibly hilarious.
  13. Don't blame you for not remembering this but Jokisch racked up 14.1 big league innings in 2014. Chris Rusin also comes to mind and he has carved up a career being a long man/spot starter for the Rockies.
  14. What do you hear on Evan White the Kentucky 1B? FYI, I've read that some teams want to move him to the outfield even though he's a good defender at first.
  15. Oh good catch, I was looking at the Tennessee half of the inning for some reason. The inside the park HR was a well struck fly ball that Burks didn't see at first. He probably would've caught it, but lost it in the sun or just got a late break. Almost caught up to it but ran into the wall at pretty much top speed. There's padding on the walls in Tennessee, but it's concrete behind it. He jogged over to the ball (not at full speed, seemingly a little dazed) and threw it back in but the guy who hit it had great speed and scored easily. The manager, trainer and several players gathered around Burks in the outfield. Couldn't tell what the injury was exactly. They weren't looking at any one part of his body. He seemed to shake it off, but they obviously took him out after the inning ended. It could've just been pre-cautionary, or they were running a concussion protocol. He did hit the wall awkwardly so it could be a knee or back injury. We should learn more soon I'd expect. FYI, Burks was placed on the DL on Wednesday.
  16. No. If he's on the mound, then cool. But, they're looking at other guys for the most part. Might as well take a few notes. But, he's not even a top 30 prospect in a middling system. If there was ANY buzz whatsoever on him, BA, BP, FG, or Law would have actually ranked him. Sickels, has him inside his list, but hes a stats guy and had actually pegged him to break out. He didnt, not a shock. No ones clamoring to get him into their system. He can be a Rashad Crawford type of 4th piece in a deal, as can 15-20 other guys we've got in that 25-45ish area of our system. At least Crawford had some athleticism and upside, though. On the flip side, Kellogg is a lefty. Gun to my head, and despite the inherent risk of pitchers, I think Kellogg ends up with a longer big league career as a lefty reliever. Heck, I'd be impressed if Crawford makes it to the big leagues.

  18. Yeah, not a lot going on there but here's the link: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1367
  19. He was placed on the DL so he definitely was hurt.
  20. Luis Robert picked the White Sox over the Cardinals for more then $25 million plus overage penalties.
  21. Does it even matter that I've singled out the HR multiple times as what drags down the outing? That makes 4 in 4 IP this year and 5 in 44 High A IP overall. Fine in the majors, meh at the A ball levels, and the competition doesn't get easier. Honestly, I just thought it was amusing.
