  1. Luis Robert picked the White Sox over the Cardinals for more then $25 million plus overage penalties.
  2. Does it even matter that I've singled out the HR multiple times as what drags down the outing? That makes 4 in 4 IP this year and 5 in 44 High A IP overall. Fine in the majors, meh at the A ball levels, and the competition doesn't get easier. Honestly, I just thought it was amusing.

  4. Yep. Hiura would be my dream come true. Yeah, I'm also down for selecting Hiura if he falls that far. I don't know where he fits or works defensively. He definitely needs TJ surgery on his throwing arm right? There have been hints but nothing has been confirmed. He sprained his UCL, re-injured it after trying to just rest it and then got a PRP shot. He still hasn't played in the field since the original injury. Even if he needs TJS, I'd take the best college hitter in the draft and wait for him to heal up. It's not a pitcher elbow injury.
  5. Michael a Mercado is definitely making it to Stanford. Jake Eder (Vandy) and Jeremiah Estrada (UCLA) are tough signs - though I've heard Estrada can be had.
  6. Tom's not impressed when's de la Cruz is economical and gets through 7 because he only has a strikeout. He's not impressed with 5 Ks in 5.1 because he runs out of gas in the 6th. Shrug indeed.
  7. It probably would've stopped if Montgomery could have gotten out of the inning. I agreed with Heyward. The conditions were as bad when Montgomery was pitching in the 5th as when Baez/Schwarber misplayed that pop up.
  8. I wouldn't have blamed Anderson if he sucked in those conditions.
  9. I know he missed the spot but that was strike 3 before the infield single.
  10. Montgomery lost his control the moment it started rain harder. Ugh.
  11. Bunch of singles but outside of Zobrist's, they've all been nicely hit. Still none out, expand that lead.
  12. Because Tranny hasn't been around in a few minutes, Montgomery should be starting.
  13. Great at bats from Javy and Jay. Ugh, Jay should've tagged on the Schwarber flyball.
  14. If there's a rain delay, I hope Butler can pitch up to it. I'd hate to lose Montgomery before a delay. That's 2 potential XBHs knocked down by the wind. Ugh.
  15. No. I don't know about squeezed but the ump's zone was very tight.
  16. Jonathan Mayo's mock draft: http://m.mlb.com/news/article/231085504/jonathan-mayo-mock-projection-2017-mlb-draft/?topicid=151437456 Hiura went 22, Pearson went 23, Danner 25, Carlson 26, Lutz 29, no Ramos or Holmes in the top 30.
  17. One thing to keep in mind is it was always likely Cease would get shut down this season once he hit an innings limit. He only threw 71.1 innings last year between extended spring training and Eugene (I'm guessing they want to bump him up to 100 innings this season, which would get him through July if he were healthy). A small ankle injury where he misses a little time probably allowshim a chance to finish the regular season and maybe even pitch the playoffs.
