  1. Yeah something called an Espino, then Chase Anderson and then Jimmy Nelson are a really feared triple headed monster. Hah, I meant the guys we have going and Anderson and Nelson are maybe their 2 best pitchers aren't they? (not that this means they are great relative to the entire league) Matt Garza actually leads the Brewers in ERA, ERA+ and is second in FIP. Only posting this because I'm shocked.
  2. What a dumb inning from Lester's point of view. Hits that found holes in the infield and Rondon giving up the inherited runs.
  3. 2089 Mock: https://2080baseball.com/2017/05/mlb-draft-bites-mock-draft-edition-05-19-2017/ Nick Allen goes 24 to Boston, Tanner Houck 26, Brendon Little 28.
  4. They also have top 10 talent prep OF Jordon Adell dropping all the way to 32 (bonus demands?) and Vandy OF Jeren Kendall down to 16 (contact issues). Clarke Schmidt went 19 and Kyle Wright was their newest 1st overall pick.
  5. That's what Liam meant by 'the Andrew Shaw/Kobe special'. Crap, I just glossed over that.
  6. Here's Brett Jackson the last time he played at Wrigley:
  7. I just want one lineup with Báez, Almora, Bryant, Schwarber and Happ so the Cubs last 5 first rounders would be starting.
  8. Yeah, those guys appear to be doing pretty terrible in XST. O well. Hopefully they'll get better with time. Despite Albertos' early season struggles, Arizona Phil seems to think he'll start off in Eugene:
  9. Not sure an assignment to high-A was too advanced for a guy with his pedigree. Most of us were hoping he'd start in Myrtle Beach over the winter.

  11. On another note, "Hail to the Cubs" has a great ring to it: [tweet] [/tweet]
  12. I'm not posting much during games because they aren't happening at 2 in the horsefeathering morning. The Cubs need to get on my newborn's schedule.
  13. [tweet] [/tweet] Every first round or sandwich pick made by Theo (besides Paul Blackburn who was traded to Seattle) is currently on the big league roster.
  14. Oh, he definitely has a sleepy-eyed psycho thing going on. horsefeathers, I just image searched him and he straight up looks like Dahmer most of the time. Is his walk-up music the minimalist stuff that is featured in Requiem for a Dream? I could barely make it out during the broadcast last night. Totally what a sociopath would pick. I approve. Yeah, it sounded like "Requiem for a Dream." Also find it hilarious Uehara comes out to "Sandstorm."
  15. I also like David Peterson amongst the college arms in the that range. But it sounds like both Canning and Peterson will be gone by 27, though. Like Regular Show, I'm intrigued by the top two JC arms.

  17. About time for Brooks and Rucker. Markey should get bumped up to AAA soon too. Guess he'll be in the wave of promotions with Mekkes and Maples, whenever that happens.
  18. Charcer Burks hit a HR too. It's only mid-May but so far, he's definitely been the biggest breakout prospect in the system this year. ETA: Whoops. I started making this post before davell's second post.
  19. At this rate, you guys are going to be resorting to cannibalism by tomorrow.
  20. Jeff Sullivan on Jake Arrieta: http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/jake-arrieta-has-not-been-good/
  21. That's great news! Did you name him yet? Clark? Addison? Bryzzo? Oh, just saw this. His first name is Jordan. Raisinette (love it, TT) got first name rights, so he isn't named after Michael Jordan but my friends and family don't believe that.
