  1. Lange seems like a college arm this regime would like. Pats self on back.

  3. Wow, the other JC pitcher from Florida. Brendon Little.

  5. Romero to the nationals has to be the least surprising pick ever.
  6. Dodgers, I'd guess. (Though they love Bubba Thompson, supposedly.) You're right, I just figured if Thompson was there, they were a lock for him. Now, I kind of want Thompson lol Agreed on the last sentence.
  7. He's actually been rumored to go to the Cubs with one of their first rounders as a signability pick. Interesting. Kid can absolutely mash. .387/.495/.810 (1st in NCAA), 23 HR, 30 doubles (1st in NCAA), 82 RBI (1st in NCAA). Seems like it would be in line with the philosophy we've employed with our last few first rounders. His older age and questions about his power in the pros of he's stuck at 1B or LF. Since he's reduced his Ks, I do think his hit tool is underrated by the online scouting agencies.

  9. Wow, got to think at least one team here in the 15-20 got at least a #2 starter between Bukauskas, Schmidt, Faedo and Peterson. Guess Tristan Beck is the last college arm I'm super intrigued in.

  12. Just read that as well. I think it's a bit much to say his best days could be ahead of him but no doubt I'd felt like he'd been rounding back into formidable form before yesterday's outing. I didn't watch or even get to follow the game but he was pretty solid for the first 4 innings before the wheels fell off. He's been very encouraging over his last 7 or so starts. Apparently he had a cut open up on him in that 5th inning. Hope that was all it was.
  13. When signed, he was thought of as a defensive-first catcher with gold glove potential. He clearly has displayed an elite ability to throw our guys so far.

  16. I don't think Mayo's mock makes sense financially. Allen will probably require a slight overslot and Carlson a sizable one. Callis' mock should allow for savings for the second round but I'd rather take my overslot in the first to ensure the Cubs actually select the guy. Neither Mayo nor Callis have Schmidt in the first.
  17. I like that and I like the idea of getting Schmidt at a slight discount when you think he's a likely top 15 pick.
  18. Rooker seems to be widely considered a second round talent so it does seem like they're sacrificing some talent picking him at 27/30. Isn't Rooker only a 2nd round talent based on age though? It's not a limitation of any of his tools or production. I'm willing to gamble on that. He's also a 1B/LF who likely doesn't have the normal power for those positions.
