I've been trying to guess what else is on the Cubs shopping list for this deadline, and what deals are still possible after flipping Eloy & Cease. Backup C? LHRP? Another starter, probably more in the Monty 2016 mold? All of the above? Still all for Gausman if you're talking about someone like Monty 2016.

The Cubs can always rebuild their system by trading Wade Davis now.

I know a few of you have mentioned potentially trading Eloy when his trade value was maximized but they definitely did that with Cease. He desperately needs to get increase innings and avoid injuries to avoid being a Georgian Julio Urias.

I know the Rays are still competitive but I wonder how much more expensive Archer would have been. This really clears up a lot of stress in the coming offseason.

Pick 78 ended up being Zagunis. It definitely disappoints to read that and then remember the Cubs were heavy linked to Jack Flaherty with their 2nd round pick the same year.
