  1. GOD FORBID HE CELEBRATE SCORING A TD PLAYING IN HIS FIRST GAME IN ALMOST A YEAR!* *outside of taking some handoffs in the last detroit game He just didn't really do much. He should have given it to Forte since he got them down there.
  2. Lame Ass spike by Rex. Thats was basically Forte's drive.
  3. oh really. FAIL http://blog.pharmalive.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/o_rly.jpg PASS
  4. Hmmm, I wonder if they might still bring him back, just at a smaller salary? I honestly don't mind him on our team. If they don't bring him back, does Hill become our back up?
  5. Me too. No, I'm still happy with my decision. Yay.
  6. Pie and Prospects for Hermida DLee for anything to save us $ Dunn or Tex for 1B Retain Demp, Wood, Reed WOOT LF-Soriano 2B-DeRosa/Fontenot 1B-Tex (or Dunn) 3B-ARam C-Soto RF-Hermida/DeRosa CF-Reed/Fukudome SS-Theriot Bench-Blanco, Cedeno, Hoff, Fontenot, Fukudome Zambrano, Harden, Dempster, Lilly, Marquis Wood, Marmol, Samardzija, Wuertz, Cotts, Marshall, Gaudin
  7. Yeah, i'd rather put Pie in center and let him start also. But, just curious, who is that "power hitting right fielder that we should and could get? I haven't gotten that far yet. Presumably though it is a trade, in which case Pie will likely be a part of it. We're kind of stuck with Fukudome at his deal.
  8. Find a power hitting RF Fuku to CF with Reed. Dump Marquis' salary. Lock up Wood (3 years) and Dempster (4-5 years) on "hometown discount" deals. Soriano Lee Ramirez RF Soto DeRosa CF Platoon Theriot Zambrano, Harden, Dempster, Lilly, Marshall/Samardzija/Hill/etc Wood, Marmol, Wuertz, Cotts, Gaudin, Marshall/Samardzija/Guzman/etc Hoffpauir, Blanco, Fontenot, Cedeno, Fukudome
  9. No that would be stupid because it would make us a worse baseball team. Anything Lou wants to say beforehand though won't change our talent though. The 0.05% chance it psychs out the Dodger's though is an interesting idea worth discussing.
  10. We have the series to lose no matter what we do. Whether you decide you are going to approach the game the same you approached the other two, or you decide you are going to play mind tricks on the other team, or play mind tricks on your own guys, or try to fire your own guys up, or rub your stomach and pat your head. No matter what you do the series is on the line.
  11. Or the Dodgers will continue to clean the Cubs' clock. There would be a run to the bat rack. Harden deserves this start and not to give it to him is a fireable offense. I wasn't agreeing with the not starting Harden stuff, just throwing some stuff out that you know the media will eat up. Kind of "reverse bulletin board material." Not a real large chance it makes any difference, but its an interesting idea that could be worth a shot (I mean what do you have to lose).

  13. The premise of Lou conceding the series is an interesting one. Could play mind tricks on LA a bit. Tell them how great they are, etc, maybe you catch them looking past us and believing it.
  14. I'm not married, but I'd definitely ditch my girlfriend for anything Cubs related. She's a Sox fan.
  15. I have noticed that he is pretty quick to first base. I think he is fastest Cub pitcher. lawl, thats like a sexual joke right?
  16. This isn't about Wrigley Field, where I'm pretty sure they do cut off after the seventh, this is about the bars around Wrigley, which only have to abide by what the city liquor laws state. This crap that Daley is trying to do smacks of him just continuing his war against the Cubs. I realize that its about the bars and not Wrigley, but the general idea of "let's cut off the fans before the end of the game" idea isn't like something completely new. Realistically any fans at the bars in Wrigleyville will be an extension of the fan base at the actual stadium. No matter what they do though, everyone is going to go crazy when the Cubs win a big series, and some idiots will take it too far, even if they haven't drank for two innings.
  17. It's not like a totally unprecedented idea. Don't many if not most ballparks, or other sporting stadiums for that matter, cut of alcohol sales at some point before the end of the game? I mean if the Cubs clinch in Wrigley, no doubt there is going to be a crazy mob and a lot of public damage, there are a lot of idiots out there. Cutting off sales isn't the only way to help prevent it. They'll need to beef up security big time.
  18. We can't hate Kosuke. That would be racist.
  19. Was Geo just crying?
  20. But they both speak Mexican.
  21. If only Mark Prior had known Geo's mom.... Geo will be fine. Nothing really matters until October. I thought Soto was from Puetro Rico. What's the difference? /ignorance ftw
  22. My friend and I signed up for all the potential post season lotteries. He won the Mets lottery. Really good chance we play them. I have a free flight to use with Southwest, but he's not sure he can afford the plane tickets out there. I really don't want to go to New York for my first time alone. Basically I'm really hoping my friend bucks up and buys the plane tickets so I can see the Cubs in the playoffs.
  23. Add our 1-2-3-4-5 and we probably have the best starting rotation in baseball!
