  1. Only problem to comparing him to Smiths return is Cutlers cost is gonna be way higher. That's enough to pull the return down even with Cutler being more talented. It would take a true bidding war, which I'm not sure us likely as Cutler would most likely have just agreed with one team on terms.
  2. Well the luster of my Jackson/Jeffrey/Brown trio wore off the last two weeks. And while I may still have had a chance with perfect hindsight (namely Car D over Chiefs in week 16) the former was definitely the main factor in my demise. In a winner take all league, second place stings. Looking forward to next year and my keepers.
  3. Nice write up, but I don't know why you don't want to keep Wotton. So, his DT play didn't impress you? He's a pretty solid DE.
  4. Doubt it. He will get a lot of interest (read Dallas). Are you sure Kiffin and Marinelli are back? Our do you see this as a destination regardless of coordinator?
  5. Well that's pretty good news. That makes us the worst 8-8 team right.
  6. way too much optimism. Lions getting a new coach that might actually allow them to play to their talent Rodgers will return to iron man vikings are good every other year and will contend Also the Lions loss today means the Bears finish 2nd and play the 49ers and Cowboys/Eagles instead of Arizona and the Giants Looks like AFC west and NFC South are out matchups as well, and I could come up with better scenarios in envisioning a 13-3 season.
  7. The line. Average safety play is much more easy to come by and live with if you are getting the proper pressure and run support in your front 4/front 7. I feel like we've had nothing but a dumpster fire at both safety positions since Mike Brown left. Either this team sucks at finding decent safeties, or it's harder than you might think. Well the exact same safeties that were dumpster fire this year looked a lot better even last year with a more productive front 7. They were average to below average and passable.
  8. [expletive] next year. I'm tired of hearing that. What makes it worse is we've avoided a full rebuild job yet never make the playoffs. Fml Well one half of the team went through a full rebuild in two years, with really just two carry over pieces. Not sure what would have been so appealing about a couple shitty teams thrown in there, especially because we gave up so many draft picks anyways to get Jay and our D is suffering from depth as much as it is top of the line talent. They aren't in the current state becuase they never had some high draft pick, which isn't really even that big of a deal in the NFL.
  9. The line. Average safety play is much more easy to come by and live with if you are getting the proper pressure and run support in your front 4/front 7. Do the Bears have a pretty optimistic cap outlook? I really hope so because I think even if you went all out in the draft, its not enough to restock our D next year.
  10. Man, I'm not really glad I wasn't able to tune in the past two weeks. Living overseas/traveling has certain perks. My condolences to all of you who experienced this live and in HD.
  11. Well for all intents and purposes, yes, but I generously included Weems as a WR and can probably count the snaps he's played there even though he is always active. A few times Wilson was inactive. Basically just requires Wilson stepping into the slot role, and everything else is negligible.
  12. I'm not sure it matters too much in regards to deciphering Rogers health, but did they go 54 man with emergency QB or 55 with 3 QBs fully active?
  13. So that's just Jeffrey, Marshall, Wilson, and Weems as the WR? I predict more 6 OL formations.
  14. Yea I can't recall any mention of Lake starting in AAA though I think he probably should.
  15. Eagles put up 54 and I only get 25 points from Foles and Jackson. [expletive]. As long as 9ers D doesn't go nuts tonight I should still be within striking distance to close the gap this week. Also, screw the Chiefs D. And Reghie Bush.
  16. The joy of fantasy and fan values matching up is joyous. And I kind of like NO D. And Chi v Phi is begging for a shootout. Go for it.
  17. Money on the line?
  18. I don't know about that. I think it's mostly Theo's strategy and the owners are going along with it. I think it's a mixture really. No question I don't think we could have 140M payrolls right now. I do think Theo isn't going to go too far outside his value range on FA though, but is willing to put up big money offers, like Sanchez last year. I'm a little surprised they haven't shown more interest in guys like Choo and Ellsbury this year, but it may be that Tanaka is just the big splash they are waiting for and are wanting all their eggs in that basket. We've heard them say before budgets aren't necessarily year to year and I could definitely see them taking the long term view on this one.
  19. Also, while it certainly wouldn't surprise me if the Bulls FO is indeed interested keeping Deng for the long haul, now isn't a bad time for a leak to keep leverage if they are interested in trading him.
  20. Well apparently we are bad enough to tank even while holding onto our core. Cost and flexibility are now big parts of my motivation for a big sell off but if the owners are willing to roll with the roster and salary... And we're still able to tank, I guess there's some optimism there.
  21. Actually the most interesting part of that to me was that the article states Latin teams do package deals all the time. Gives some hope we can circumvent our restrictions in IFA next year, although I think you have to obviously tread lightly.
  22. My understanding is that it's all back room dealing before the posting. Tanaka, the two teams, the two proxy player, and the agents all agree under the table to the terms.
  23. Sounds like just a lot of gamesmanship to me.
  24. Is Rose doing that though? Presuming the Daily News article is correct, how is that Rose looking out for himself? Isn't it in his best interest to build this team for the future where he's actually playing basketball? Well he at least thinks he is. He is wrong, I agree with that but if he doesn't think so, well whatcha gonna do
  25. A little over the top but both sides should just be looking out for themselves.
