    How about keep the PAT but if a kicker misses he gets his foot chopped off. Sure it only happens 4 times a year but fans will be on the edge of their seat every time.

    I believe at least that many people believe in some type of inconsistencies. Not all truthers are going to be full on Loose Change toting lunatics. But it is enough of a reason for me to hate Carroll, particularly lumped together with the person we know him to be as a whole.

    I mean, is the west coast thing really that big of a deal? You spend half the summer on the road, and you don't get enough consecutive days off from February through September to make any 24+ hour round trips worthwhile.

    Interesting. He sucks as a head coach, but was LB coach for the Cowboys earlier in the 2000s. Also Dolphins DC. Gets a lot of credit for the development of Demarcus Ware as an OLB. Also of note, he's primarily has coached 3-4 defenses in the NFL. Shea, meet your new coach.

    I figured the MLB had an enforced monopoly on the internet, but do they? I mean like besides whatever business hurdles exist, is a team disallowed from selling internet media rights?

    All the chatter lately (mostly from the Mooney piece) has been about a bridge deal with Fox locally (WFLD 32) for the WGN games, and then going RSN with Fox after the CSN deal is up. Fox is making a big push to expand Fox Sports. Right I understand all that. To be clear, when I say RSN related, it's with the understanding that there is a bridge until 2019. Still, feels like there could be something else entirely if I wanna read into his blog post too much. I don't think the way we watch sports/baseball is going to change all that much in the next 5-6 years. Probably not, but what about 10-15? I'm not putting more that Derrick Rose lottery chances on any speculation, just trying to think outside of the obvious lines that are being drawn between concurrent rumors.

    Maybe I'm reading too much into the first few lines of Brett's post but I don't think this is going to be cable RSN if it's related to Cubs broadcasting. Just focusing on the technology dies quickly bit, it seems the whole Mega-Cable contracts are already viewed as hitting a bubble and certainly by 2019, and the Cubs can't get out if the CSN commitment. So if not a RSN like FOX... What?

    I have no idea how the contracts are structured, but there are probably just enough day games to satisfy the allotment that were shown on WGN Yea I guess so. I suppose CSN probably isn't going to fight getting more night than day games, so it would probably work out okay.

    So in that case would a Cubs game in Chicago supercede national programming for FOX? I realize baseball is mostly played at a time of the year when prime time t.v. really isn't scheduled, but if they was a big national t.v. program, I can't imagine them not airing it just for the Cubs.

    We should have known from the start that having Tucker install Lovies D was a bad idea. Is he a bad D coordinator regardless? Very likely. But it kind of left some lingering doubt when piled with the injuries. From a risk/reward perspective I don't think we're chancing too much by giving him another year. If there was an outstanding candidate out there I may feel differently. I'm intrigued if the plan is a "hybrid" scheme. I think we'll mainly see a primarily one gap scheme. I don't think we'll see much if any true two gap 3-4 schemes, but try and move guys around as much as possible. Any versatile defenders are probably getting a boost on our draft board.

    Apparently he also dated some chick for five years, and based on her twitter he cheated on her when she left for the Peace Corps around the time he met this chick. These are the things I learn reading Sports Message boards.
