That's what they said about the USFL and look how that turned out? Oh. Is this supposed to be a feeder league for the NFL? Supposedly with a particular emphasis on QB development. Which I'm not sure is totally necessary since teams just decided they could indeed introduce more college concepts to make use of these college QBs.

All the more reason to not waste time asking for the universal DH? Go for the biggest fish then, no? Opening with a softball that makes the already more popular other side look good seems like a bad idea By all means ask for big fish too. No demand it. Demand everything. Who cares if the fans end up siding with ownership? The fans can't support owners without it enriching players, especially if they do a good job negotiating. What do they get by holding back on any demand, big or small?

I don't think the players should be trying to play the court of public opinions with fans. There's no equivalent baseball group for the owners to leverage against these players and with the fans. There's only the fans running for other forms of entertainment which fucks the owners just as much as the players.

he was joking I think schwarber is a big thick rust belt boy who loves cops, doesn't take a lot of deduction to figure out who he didn't vote for because he's a millenial but would have voted for if he had registered to vote (its donnie trump) He's only part thick rust belt boy. Porter is decent, but this is a tax move for the Wizards. For the Bulls... I don't know. That they gave up the second rounder in a move like this is soooo Bulls though. Edit--I guess it's a cap floor move for the Bulls. But why didn't they get some other asset back (let along giving up the 2nd). Was there really some other team that was taking Otto off their hands?

Intuatively it doesn't make sense for players to limit their demands, so is your stance that they are focusing on that demand in lieu of more impactful demands? I'm saying it's a stupid ask for the MLBPA. It does nothing good for the MLBPA. It will help a handful of players play more often, but it will not be a net positive for the entirety of the players association. Owners framing it as a concession is good PR for owners. So you do think the players should limit certain demands? I don't see the harm in throwing the whole book of demands out there. If the argument is they left out bigger ones, by all means that's dumb to negotiate against yourself, but asking for more isn't bad.

It's a January rule change that Manfred himself mentioned was gaining ownership support last summer. It's a net positive for the game, probably a mild improvement to players by making a few FA more palatable and capturing a few arbitration dollars with the extra PA, not doing it just because you're worried about how it impacts the optics of a strike when the bad faith from owners is so visible and obvious would be silly. It's not like they can overhaul service time or the luxury tax with these pre-season rule tweaks. It has been framed in a way that this is an ownership concession to players. And that's bad. I didn't say they shouldn't agree to it happening. I said asking for it is dumb. Intuatively it doesn't make sense for players to limit their demands, so is your stance that they are focusing on that demand in lieu of more impactful demands?

Is it the 3.6 per or the 0.383 TS% I don’t expect him to be any good at all but he’s not some 37 year old vet or some euroleague draft pick that’s never coming over. He has at least a minute amount of potential. Thus non-zero value He will probably struggle to stay in the league after this season. He's a former first rounder who had his 4th year option declined. There's probably dozens of G leaguers available to sign for the minimum who offer the same or better potential. He has zero value.
