  1. How did Gooz look today beyond his boxscore? I slept through the beginning of the game.
  2. Cubs in 5 with me in attendance
  3. lol not even good at hiding it nobody actually pointed to floppymouse directly with the cubsgm accusation and he just responds to it out of nowhere.. HMMMMM
  4. hahahahahahahaha
  5. http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20080926&content_id=3555554&vkey=news_chc&fext=.jsp&c_id=chc
  6. Nor do we have to worry about Demp regressing next year as he pitches this season. Who says he would have to wait until next year to do any regressing if there's any regressing to do?
  7. We've seen Soto react like that to a swing many times all season. That and the fact that he didn't want to come out speaks volumes. Piniella just didn't want him continuing to reaggravate an existing condition that they already were giving him time off for.
  8. lol at AP
  9. that would be ridiculously awesome
  10. and again, cc as pitched like 4 straight starts on short rest (or will have, or something) and his velocity is down.. he's no sure thing
  11. huh? Why are we rooting against milwaukee in the DS anyway? he's worried about CC, Gallardo, Sheets fwiw, CC has been unbelievably overworked lately, his velocity is down, gallardo had a nice start against a terrible team, so hard to know what to gather from that, and sheets's arm is about to fall off
  12. None of the potential playoff teams wants to play any of the other potential teams. The seeding looks like a middle school dance: lots of people standing on opposite sides of the room, too scared to go anywhere near the others. haha the mets are the hot girl everyone wants to dance with but whose parents might not let her go
  13. Remember that the Dodgers spent the entire month playing these teams San Diego - 9 Games Arizona - 3 Games Colorado - 3 Games Pittsburgh - 3 Games San Fran - 3 Games (3 left) Scary. Lol, seriously. Look how the Rockies finished last year: http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/COL/2007_sched.shtml I guess that means that's what happens every time. And the moment they faced a legit team they got swept right the hell out.
  14. Another from that same Dodger fan...
  15. On the bright side, I was thinking about going to LA if we drew them. I've never been to Cali and would like to catch it out. :)
  16. From a Dodgers fan (one of the smartest posters I know, has an awesome blog) at another board I go to...
  17. Not only that, but I don't want the Brewers in the playoffs. What if Sheets actually comes back healthy? Then all of a sudden they've got Sabathia/Sheets/Gallardo Don't worry so much. We're in. We've got our shot for this year. Probably the best shot of any team in baseball. I have to tell myself that crap, too. But yea, just enjoy it at this point. And do a lot of this :beg:
  18. I bet the plan is to use Marmol tonight and then again Sunday. It is.
  19. And like half of those guys won't even be playing next week. Come on, man. None of this matters. I MIGHT grant you that the playoff opponent thing matters (albeit not as much as people think), but how we "look" tonight means absolutely nothing. Jesus.
  20. Again, I'd probably rather face the Mets, but it's foolish to think it makes a huge difference. We can easily lose to them and we could just as easily beat a superior team.
  21. Oh and be glad that Chad Gaudin hasn't had some fortunate outings and then crapped the bed after making the playoff roster. If he sucks, it's good that it's being exposed.
  22. The fact is there's no way to know what matchup really will be better for us and it's a best of 5 crapshoot that we'll be favored in no matter who we play. The Mets just aren't going to roll over for us if we draw them. Would I rather face them? Probably, but it really doesn't matter all that much. I think it matters a lot. I think the Dodgers are leaps and bounds better than the Mets in pretty much every area. Also Furcal is back. They have a top offense and the best pitching in the league. The Mets have a good lineup and that's it. In a five game series (even in a seven game series), truth be told, having some bounces go our way is going to matter a whole lot more than who we're facing. It's lame but that's really what it comes down to. It's too short term to be able to say, "oh we're this much better than these guys but only that much better than those guys, we would be much more likely to beat these guys." Fact is will be the better team no matter who we are facing. Be happy with that. That's all you can really ask for.
  23. it amazes me how easily people seem to think the mets will go down next week just because they've looked bad lately.
