  1. The idea being that nobody expects us to win anymore and that it's the Dodgers' to lose. Not sure I buy into it but whatever works.
  2. We have a chance at a Red Sox moment. It looks like all these series are going to start out 2-0. I think, of all the teams, you would have to say we have the best chance of pulling out of it. DO THIS
  3. I don't know about all that but let's get one at a time starting tomorrow night. It's 3 soapdropping games, we can do this.
  4. because it's not a mistake, it's a poorly constructed sentence. i see what you did there
  5. Yea it was pretty obvious that Cyno was kidding... I guess we all need to chill right about now.
  6. http://markderosa.mlblogs.com/ I feel bad for him. :x That's gotta hurt. Plus he's convinced if he had waited back on the ball he could've made an easy double play on the ball.

    Rube Baker?
  8. I think this makes more sense than those who are claiming this team isn't motivated enough or they don't care. Just hire a stripper to work the clubhouse an hour before gametime. It's really not that hard. That's what she said?
  9. I think game 4 is a lot more key than tomorrow. Tomorrow, the matchup is so favorable that we had better win. Obviously, if we lose, there's no game 4, but I think game 4 will require a bit more fingers crossing than tomorrow's. After watching the way Kuroda has owned the cubs this year, and the way Harden has struggled with his control at times. I don't know how this matchup is "so favorable"? Yet, i also think the Cubs win tommorow, but it won't be easy. There is no matchup in this series that is as lopsided in our favor as tomorrow's.

  11. If the Cubs win the next 3 games, bhogg is a first ballot game thread HOFer.

    Game 3

Because he's batting about .235 We need to get more hits, not necessarily more homers. We've obviously relied too much on the long ball. He has been the most productive hitter on the team since he became a Cub. Putting Reed Johnson in in place of him vs. a RH would not help this lineup at all.
  13. you cut up and burned a t-shirt because it had the name of a bad baseball player on it? fth?
  14. please tell me you're joking. please.
  15. But at least you still have your Rays. Jerk.
  16. Except that when it was time to sign up the bandwagon was in full force. If you had gotten picked you would've been able to get tickets, regardless.
  17. Where exactly was this heard? Because if it was just "overheard," it's not likely he said anything to Soriano in English, so the person who may or may not have heard this could have heard wrong and not known what he was hearing. Or it might be someone who knows Spanish. Or did Lou actually say to the media that he said this to Soriano?
  18. Knowing a few Red Sox fans, whether it's this year or not, it'll all be well worth it when it does happen. And if we keep spending like this and making the playoffs on a consistent basis, it will happen. Eventually.
  19. Picked up a pair of terrace reserved infield to game 2 and my buddy got the same for game 6. Now Cobs, please win a game tomorrow to give me a little more hope that I might use them.
  20. or we could be looking at a tied series with 3 favorable pitching matchups coming up. that would be a lot nicer than where we're at right now.
  21. I might just need it. The butterflies are getting more ridiculous by the minute.
  22. I still think those OH people had legit sources and really did hear what they heard. Hell, we even heard that BRob was told by his agent that he was traded at one point. I just think the clusterfreak with Angelos caused it all to mean nothing.
  23. I don't see how the Cubs have three favorable pitching matchups in Games 3-4-5. Game 3, certainly, but that's a no brainer. Game 4 the Cubs would if the Dodgers throw Maddux but Lilly-Lowe isn't in our favor. Same goes for Billingsley-Dempster/Z in Game 5. It could be (we'll see how Billingsley does tonight) but right now it doesn't look like a matchup in the Cubs' favor. The history of starters who aren't CC Sabathia or Randy Johnson on short rest isn't exactly great.
