Cubs playoff games occuring during other obligations. OH NO!

I was on my honeymoon during this year's NBA finals (I'm a Laker fan) and I made a deal with my wife that I wouldn't watch any Cubs games (or pretty much any other sporting event) if she let me watch the three Laker games that were on. We were able to schedule activities (no, not those) in Maui like snorkeling and going on the road to Hana around the Laker games with no problem. Of course, it helped that the games were on at 3 in Hawaii and ended right before we would go to dinner those nights. Holy Howry, you're married? Aren't you younger than me? Jesus, just the thought sends chills down my spine. -
May 22, 1994 Derrick May hit a home run....that's all I really remembered other than the announcement over the PA that the Bulls had just lost the series to the Knicks

in late round or championship matchups, I don't think it's standard in first round games. I was pretty sure it happened for the Bears in 06 with Seattle and last year with Phoenix. But I could be wrong.

Yep, the White Sox would have to do some serious choking to lose this game. The Cell is not conducive to the Twins style of baseball. Their only hope is that Jon Danks sucks on 3 days rest. Danks does have a 4.73 ERA since the ASB, and in his last start he gave up 7 runs in 4 innings to the Royals, so we'll see. I believe ESPN had a stat that says teams that there has been 10 tries at the 3 victories in 3 days .v. 3 different teams this yr, and said teams wer 0-10 in such a case. I don't like the White Sox chances here. I say the Twins will win this game. If for nothing else I want Hawk to be bitter and jaded going into the offseason. You realize that pointless stats like this have no bearing on the actual game tonight, right? -
I remember watching Game 5, seeing Beckett shut us down against Z, thinking "eh, whatever, it'll be cooler to win it at home anyway." I don't actually remember much of game 5 outside of Beckett striking out Sammy on a pitch that FOX somehow had clocked at ~100 mph.

I want to jump all over that so bad but I've been to so many damn games that I think I'll just watch it with a bunch of buddies at a friend's apartment. But I am damn tempted... damn.

See, that's what I don't understand. "Expecting" to be beaten by what clearly is an inferior team. Being worried that it'll happen because anything can happen in a short series? Sure. But expecting to be beaten makes even less sense to me than expecting to win in a playoff series. Neither one of them make much sense at all to me because you might as well be predicting the flip of a (slightly weighted) coin.

So the cubs lose this series, then? Have you ever been positive in your entire life? Of course. Just not about our ballclub. So then why even bother watching if you can't even muster up positivity (er, realism, actually) during the best season any of us have seen?

People thought that the Cubs were better than their record suggested last year too. They were. They just blew in the playoffs.

Wait until the games start and we start winning. Fun as all hell, believe me. I have not had more fun (and agony, of course) watching baseball than fall of 03.

What does that even mean? Are you seriously trying to complain about the Cubs not getting big hits THIS year of all years? We've seen like 5 years worth this season.

I'm a Chicago based Cubs fan and don't care about them. Well, at least not negatively. I'd say I passively root for them when they aren't playing us. Although I do laugh at their misfortune when it comes.
