  1. I couldn't help but notice the publucation date. Do you think they were being serious? Yes. The Cubs have been the "trendy" pick for the media to take it all since 2003. I think he was kidding.
  2.   he has returned in his original form.
  3. Bradley's bat is obviously much better than DeRosa's, but Bradley isn't taking DeRosa's ABs. He's taking Edmonds' ABs from last year. DeRosa's ABs will be taken by Aaron Miles and whoever replaces Bradley in right when Milton gets hurt. But I do appreciate Bradley's bat - I hope he's healthy all year. Mike Fontenot says, "Hi." Fontenot will take Fontenot's at bats, and some of DeRosa's. But my bet is Miles will have more PA than Fontenot will have increased PA. I really don't see Miles getting more PA than Fontenot barring injury or Fontenot completely sucking. We shall see. I didn't say he'd get more than Fontenot. But Fontenot played on the Cubs last year. In order to say he will take DeRosa's at bats, you have to only count whatever at bats he gets in addition to what he had last year, 284 PA. I misread the bolded. Either way, I think it's a weird convoluted way of looking at it.

  6. Without the ownership transition excuses.
  7. Zach Zaidman (sp?) is on the Score right now - he's the Score's Bears beat guy. Said that although a lot of people have been down on the idea that the Bears might be interested in Cutler, given their history, you can't really go by history because this is a pretty much unprecedented situation. 25 (soon to be 26) year old quarterbacks with 3 successful seasons under their belt (paraphrasing here) don't just come available like this. Says the Bears are definitely in the mix and very much interested. Thinks the Bears defense continues to take away the ball and put them in good field position and that a lot of those field goals Robbie Gould has been getting will turn into touchdowns (blah blah blah - no really?). Just figured I'd pass on what I heard.
  8. Clayton mentioned the Bears as one of top 3 teams he saw in the running yesterday, although he added that he didn't think they'd have enough to get it done.
  9. Hence keeping Marmol in the more important role.
  10. BRONCOS BEGIN THE PROCESS OF ERASING CUTLER FROM THE TEAM Posted by Mike Florio on March 31, 2009, 9:58 p.m. To anyone who thinks that the Broncos’ announcement that quarterback Jay Cutler will be traded is an early April Fool’s Day gag, think again. In addition to posting a statement from owner Pat Bowlen on the team’s web site, a reader points out that the franchise has removed Cutler from the online roster. He also has been scrubbed from the online depth chart, which currently shows no starting quarterback despite expressly being dated as of December 22, 2008. That said, his online bio still is live — but we have a feeling it won’t be for much longer.
  11. Looks like the Broncos are going to trade Cutler. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4031893
  12. I wouldn't trade Piniella for Scioscia.
  13. I wish we COULD get LeBron though. It sure feels like he's going to make the eastern conference a living hell for the foreseeable future ala Jordan.
  14. i realized it after i posted it. i should've clarified.
  15. 2 guard and they're really very similar players. allen was significantly better in his prime, but not when he won a championship. still better, but not by a huge margin.
  16. if ben gordon is your number 2, you're never winning anything. it's as simple as that. i love definitive statements like this that actually mean absolutely nothing. people could've said the same about rip hamilton or ray allen at one point.
  17. You're not getting Wade or LeBron, and you're probably not even getting Amare. You might get Bosh. You'd still be able to get him whether you re-sign Gordon or not. And Gordon isn't going to get some absurdly huge contract in this economy.
  18. The Bulls will be significantly worse off if and when they lose him. They'll have to luck into it in order to wind up with a better 2 in the near future.
  19. Having seen another replay, I still don't understand how TJ Ford hit that shot.
  20. You can't be serious. what? every time gordon has a game where he goes off we hear about how awesome he is and that we need to pay him. so after one of his patented "i'm ice cold tonight but i'm going to keep heaving up shots like crazy anyways" nights i can't call him out? or it could be because of his overall stats.
  21. That non-dunk-hesitation turned missed-layup by Rose hurt at the time and hurts even more now.
  22. Thanks for missing those free throws, Kirk.
  23. Rose with 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists at the end of the 3rd
