  1. Yeah, what happened to CM? What station is that? I'd like to listen online, especially since a Packer fan sits at the next desk over. :) Boers and Bernstein is on WSCR... 670thescore.com I'm sure both WSCR and ESPN1000 will carry it. And yea, it's at 5.
  2. I bought a Rex jersey after the Atlanta game... and was able to wear it proudly for... a little while...
  3. I think it's at 5 pm today... but I'm doubting myself... might be 6.
  4. I wonder if that's slightly skewed by the 3 NFL North teams playing an 0-16 Detroit team twice. It can't hurt.
  5. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft09/news/story?id=4027503 Bears look to have the easiest schedule in the NFL next year. Bring on the haters if/when we have a good record, but I'll take it.
  6. still a questionable OL, crappy receivers, and an aging defense. Bingo. Some people are acting like Cutler is Flutie, Montana, Young, McMahon, Manning and Brady all rolled into one. It's just hard for me to get excited over Cutler since the Bears have had like 30 QBs since I started watching as a little kid in the 70's. Plus I'm not excited about Pace either. He was great 8 to 10 years ago, but now he's getting pretty old in a position that has a very short shelf life. That's exactly why you should be excited about this. You're talking about a 26 year old pro-bowl quarterback with a rocket arm (lolz) who is past his growing pain years and is just about to enter his prime. Put this into perspective. Think about the QB's we've started over the past few years. I mean, Grossman and Orton were significantly better than a bunch of those guys. And Cutler is light years better than both of them.
  7. Greg Olsen is about to fulfill a whole lot more of his potential.
  8. bears open the season on sunday night? i've been trying to find the schedule but with no luck. i thought i heard that... maybe i'm wrong :-k
  9. i'm getting chills thinking about that opening sunday night game now
  10. NFL Network really likes it for the Bears.
  11. orlando pace is signed.
  12. Whispers that Pace could be taking a physical and signing soon.
  13. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I heard it in the car 20 minutes ago and I started yelling and celebrating like a maniac.
  14. What I think you're looking at looks to just be BP's Pecota projected standings. I'm guessing ESPN will have their "experts" predicting who wins each division and such at some point.
  15. From ESPN's team capsule on the Cubs... http://moarpics.com/images/zvk2y08k7eh3l3c4hpy4.png
  16. I guess that just depends on how much stock we put into defensive metrics that we all know to be fairly flawed. They're getting better, but I don't know if I put enough stock in them to put them ahead of what my eyes tell me in a case like Soriano's. Granted, the throwing out runners point is valid.
  17. Michael was waaaay more talented than Magic Johnson. Faster, stronger, jumped higher, more coordinate, everything. It's such a subjective thing though. I mean, so many guys in the league have all those athletic abilities and don't amount to much of anything. JR Smith comes immediately to mind. Either way, like everyone else has said, it won't be much of a conversation until LBJ starts winning rings, right or wrong (in basketball, I tend to think it's right, because the best teams/best players seem able to impose their will enough to win most of the time). It's pretty much inevitable that he will, though, like it was with Shaq about 10 years ago.
  18. maybe not a Pippen, but Ilgauskus is way better than Cartwright/Purdue, and guys like Williams, West and Varejao are close enough to Paxson, Armstrong, Kerr or Grant to compliment LeBron. Plus, LeBron doesn't have the Magic Lakers, Isiah Pistons and Larry Celtics to contend with. He has the Dwight Magic, Kobe Lakers and the big 3 Celtics. Either way, most in this thread for some reason decided to forget how to comprehend the written word. Nobody is saying LeBron definitely will or already has surpassed Jordan. I'm just saying, it's a probability. Hand check rules, Jordan rules, blah blah blah. I love Michael as much as anyone, but there is nothing on the court that Jordan could do that LeBron can't. There are however some things LeBron can do that Jordan couldn't. The variable is the great eye of the Jordan and his thirst for domination. Does LeBron have that? Does it matter? We'll see. But isn't that all what it comes down to anyway? There are players who have been more "skilled" than Michael. I mean, Magic almost averaged a triple double a couple of seasons, just to name one off the top of my head. But the competitiveness and all that is what set MJ so far apart.
  19. I couldn't help but notice the publucation date. Do you think they were being serious? Yes. The Cubs have been the "trendy" pick for the media to take it all since 2003. I think he was kidding.
  20.   he has returned in his original form.
  21. Bradley's bat is obviously much better than DeRosa's, but Bradley isn't taking DeRosa's ABs. He's taking Edmonds' ABs from last year. DeRosa's ABs will be taken by Aaron Miles and whoever replaces Bradley in right when Milton gets hurt. But I do appreciate Bradley's bat - I hope he's healthy all year. Mike Fontenot says, "Hi." Fontenot will take Fontenot's at bats, and some of DeRosa's. But my bet is Miles will have more PA than Fontenot will have increased PA. I really don't see Miles getting more PA than Fontenot barring injury or Fontenot completely sucking. We shall see. I didn't say he'd get more than Fontenot. But Fontenot played on the Cubs last year. In order to say he will take DeRosa's at bats, you have to only count whatever at bats he gets in addition to what he had last year, 284 PA. I misread the bolded. Either way, I think it's a weird convoluted way of looking at it.
