  1. is the park 90% empty?
  2. everyone thinks that. to be fair, it's probably also the same reason lots of people think this is a much more devastating injury than it was (because of his postseason hitting)
  3. cracks me up that CJ wilson owns a mazda dealership in the chicago area for no reason in particular
  4. No, there would be no way to do that. The attachment happens on the back side and the neon is on the front. It's just for looks. Eventually there's supposed to be a restaurant/bar there named after the marquee.
  5. I can't spend more than 2 minutes there without it making my day.
  6. I noticed the new seats they installed in the terrace level are actually a whole new style (and Kenney confirmed that on the radio this morning). I know the rest of the lower deck (field and club boxes) seats had all been replaced in the last 15 years or so, but I hope they ultimately intend to have the same seats everywhere. It's nitpicky but it'd be kinda amateurish looking otherwise. Just not sure when they'd do it, as those areas weren't mentioned in the phases that are being worked on in the upcoming offseasons.
  7. A bunch of pictures of some of the new stuff this year in this gallery http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/ct-wrigley-field-cubs-reds-home-opener-20160411-photogallery.html
  8. I might be in the minority, but I wish they wouldn't have done this. That home run was amazing, but it was also one of 6 that day in a non-clinching NLDS win in a season that ended in the NLCS. No need for it to be there permanently. The scoreboard Schwarbomb was in the clinching NLDS win and one of "only" 3 that day, IIRC. (Also, the first ever playoff series won at Wrigley, not that that means a whole lot). Not that I think it should be up there. I don't really care either way, TBH.
  9. The Soler sucks in the cold thing was an early season meme to explain why Soler was sucking at the beginning that somehow persisted even though Soler pretty much sucked all season until he didn't anymore at the very end. He was worse in July than he was in April.
  10. Historically has Fowler been as streaky as he was last year? By that I mean he was pretty bad until mid-July and then freaking awesome the rest of the year. If so, I don't want him to waste his good half in the 1st half! the story was last year that he was working on swing changes with mallee through much of the first half and it took until the second half for them to take.
  11. presented without comment
  12. There was some of that on one of the Tribune articles about it yesterday...something about how the old facilities should've been good enough (not so much tradition or whatever) and the players are too pampered. Can't find it now.
  13. holy crap...his quality of contact is so bad that even with that ridiculous speed he only managed a .264 BABIP last year
  14. feels like the first one he's ever hit in a cub uniform
  15. I'd say awesome for years is an overstatement for Heyward...but pretty good to very good, yeah.
  16. thankful this is the last time we'll see that dump in 2016
  17. soler should stand closer to the plate
  18. we grind pitchers' labrums into a pulp
