  1. and the cards tie it. all your fault.
  2. they have? i'm showing both games still going.
  3. lackey got the 9 runs he asked for. now he's just gotta take it from there.
  4. the league is going to have to do something about that. can't keep letting the cubs not swing at bad pitches.
  5. for "out of town stupid," this guy seems to have the idea at least
  6. anyone care to look up what our regular season record is from whenever our run started at the end of july/early august last year?
  7. ugh enough sweet home chicago crap...bring back whoomp there it is
  8. held my breath there great catch though
  9. There's no need to qualify it with "bad" pitchers. We are going to do that against everyone. http://i.imgur.com/fTTBLia.gif kind of reminding me of the 08 team against bad pitchers in that you knew they would just put up 5+ every time they faced anyone bad (like the entire pirates pitching staff), except better
  10. i'm going to go ahead and take the over on 0.5 times scoring 20 runs this season
  11. where the hell was that 2-1 pitch?
  12. lol had taken a nap after work and slept a little long...saw it was 7:40, figured i'd be turning on the game in the 2nd or 3rd inning and was kinda hoping it would be 0-0 so that i wouldn't have missed anything instead saw russell driving in our 3rd/4th runs (i think? - i was in a groggy haze and don't feel like rewinding) and then lackey adding on and their pitcher getting pulled in the first. lmao. amazing.
  13. Sulley wants more Cubs [tweet] [/tweet]
  14. There's a great photo gallery of the clubhouse here http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/ http://www.trbimg.com/img-570d7a3d/turbine/ct-cubs-clubhouse-tour-photos-022/1550/1550x872 How nitpicky is it to take issue with the fact that they kinda got Maddon's quote wrong?...it kinda loses something without the alliteration from the way he said it..."never permit the pressure to exceed the pleasure" plus it's supposed to be a quote and it's not how he actually said it basically every time i've heard him say it, so that bothers the OCD streak in me.
  15. This exact same thing happened to me (well, it wasn't to a nephew). Same here, my wife looked at me like I'm a moron. I guess I am sometimes though so who cares... then it wasn't the same, since i acknowledged that the cubs can't get him out so i just looked amazingly prescient
  16. http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/cubs/post/_/id/37537/live-tour-wrigley-fields-new-clubhouse-digs
  17. This is not Cardinal related, but still funny and sort of related to the topic at hand http://www.whitesoxinteractive.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=3231385#post3231385 I guess this guy hasn't watched many of our games
  18. he looked fine but he's not throwing 98 anymore and i doubt he ever will
  19. there was a hilarious graphic up on the video board that said something along the lines of (correct me if i'm wrong, i was pretty drunk last night) "we asked the cubs players who among them eats the most ice cream..." this was after they showed diff players favorite ice cream flavors anyway, so they showed like 3 players first, and they all had a couple votes each...one might've been bryant, another russell and maybe schwarb? last one they showed was rizzo with like 18 votes or something.
  20. Don't think there was any Taylor Swift last night, but he did bring this one back skip to like 27 seconds for the part they play
  21. I'm torn. I absolutely loved him playing it tonight. And part of me thinks it would be cool to hear it once per game, as a nod to Starlin, and because it is awesome. But, part of me says we need to move on from the past to other fun and exciting new things. Eh, [expletive] it, play it very game. Did Rizzo use a different walk up song each time he batted tonight like he did last year? I'd love it if he used it once per game. he did. i don't remember if he repeated any, but there were like 3-4 diff ones.
  22. last night i told my nephews that billy hamilton sucks and is maybe the worst positional hitter in mlb but the cubs are incapable of getting him out next pitch, HR
  23. They literally upgraded the whole thing, so yes and by upgraded the whole thing you mean demolished the dumpy piece of crap, turned it into a batting cage, and dug a huge hole and built a state of the art clubhouse underground.
