  1. Ah so my orthopedic surgeon wasn't trying to fix my humerus that snapped in half then. Is my arm gonna spontaneously combust someday since I'm not a pro athlete?
  2. At this point I think a severe sprain and out for a month is probably the best case scenario. i think you guys are nuts. best case scenario is he sees the field this season.
  3. all i said was that i thought this was an actual bad thing for the team and i was surprised no one else thought it mattered beyond making the team less fun. i didn't start a new fatalism thread and scream about 3-159. that was the bit. this is how i honestly feel, and i don't think it's an outlandish opinion. i don't really think the division is close enough to worry about any peril there. especially since schwarber was probably like our 5th best regular and, while the replacements aren't great (or him), he's not being replaced by like jason dubois or bobby scales or something either.
  4. [tweet] [/tweet] omg why is he wearing a batman costume to breakfast?! i dont know, but it's adorable. this kinda reminds me of goony's story about his daughter and her rainboots
  5. maybe just move part of it? the crazies are entertaining. i wanna get felix leiter up in here too.
  6. yeah. when medicine and doctors actually permanently/long-term repair or cure an ailment, i guess it's on accident. they want us all constantly undergoing treatment.
  7. well he just upped the ante again.
  8. i've heard this bit before. josh hancock used to say he drove really well on mcallan 25. no swerving and excellent reflexes.
  9. almora on pace to walk every game
  10. i figure there's enough in Iowa to get a deal done for a good starter anyway. especially/hopefully when some of our prospects add even more their value with a few good months of play.
  11. yeah none of that generic crap. brand name anesthesia. same goes for all the gauze and stitches and stuff. don't want him to get infected or for it to be a shoddy repair.
  12. are you an anti vaxxer too? screw those crazy doctors and science and stuff. what do they know?
  13. oh good lord
  14. we'll probably score ten runs again tonight but I JUST DONT CARE ANYMORE :(
  15. i always thought tree was doing a bit when he'd make those panicky alarmist threads over the last few years when we sucked or weren't yet established to be ridiculously awesome
  16. yeah i'm just hoping that either baez or soler can figure it out to fill the style and fun void. but even they won't walk up to thuggish ruggish bone.
  17. I'll be happy if he cracks 100 again in this run environment, but I sure miss the days of 130 RBI's being the norm for good hitters. the cubs know not of this run environment you speak of.
  18. can you have a career as a major league outfielder who occasionally catches without a meniscus? that's a really fast recovery if you remove it. and, as we saw with rose, it can present a lot more complications if you repair it. it's not like he needs to be jumping 40" soooo...
  19. I would think if there's meniscus damage or an MCL tear yes. But from what I understand repaired ACLs are often stronger than before after recovery. Also from experience as a sports fan, it might be 3-4 years until he can dunk again. Or at least until he hears from God.
  20. Yep. If you told me he'd be out 3-4 months and be back healthy in July or August, I'd take it in a heartbeat. Absolutely.
  21. damnit i played the song and i'm tearing up now we just lost so much swag
  22. Basically we need either Javy or Soler to pull their heads out of their asses and really figure out MLB if we want to be as obscenely dongerrific as we would've been. Even then, we'll still miss the full effect at AL parks and for Hammel starts. lol sidenote - chrome was picking out dongerrific as a misspelled word and i almost clicked to figure out what i did wrong
  23. I will be relieved if he can return this season at all. Basically how I've felt since last night, outside of a short burst of optimism when Len reported the sprained ankle.
